Oh shit, do I have to start breaking out the "Please don't fucking invade us" banners? Being on good terms with Shroomainia and all.

You're not a Shroomanian military installation, you're a sovereign nation on the other side of the world, and you're on good terms with me. ;) Don't sweat.

Wow, Stas. That was pretty harsh. Unless it's typical Pravda sensationalism :D

Hmm.. you know what, maybe it's time to do a tour of the Frequesue nations, minus the huge bodyguard.

Just so to lead a business delegation to make business deals and such, soothe some.. very excitable nerves.... :P

Shroomania only pays for it's leaders'... say, tastelessness. It's within the realm of reason. After all, we are in a "strained relationship" post something ike a Cold War - quite unlike the last time.

Heh...that reminds me, BuyNLarge seems to have grown a bit (understatement of a century...) too large for its own good. I suggest it gets broken down into smaller companies.

With such a ridiculously huge network of stores, this thing threatens to monopolize the entire retail market.

I am going to be watching it very closely during its expansion in PeZookia.

And boy, do I know the tricks those companies use to avoid taxes :D

WHAT?!

Shroomania is NOT militarizing itself and has, in fact, NOT participated heavily in such hot spots such as Velaria or that whole Frequesue mess.

We're just selling shit - from anabolic steroids, which is perfectly legal IRL, to military weapons. As if YOU'RE not selling guns yourself. :P

Damn! I knew I took those "your mom" jokes too far when I started teasing nuclear superpowers! :P

EDIT:

OTOH, I must carry my steroid storyline to its logical conclusion!

That would kind of be a stickler, as I personally don't want to pay a lot for what amounts to a ceremonial vessel. The others may disagree, but I feel we have no real need for a carrier, other than psychological warfare.
I agree that the FTO has little use for a carrier given our situation. I mainly see the navy being used for the defense of the homeland. In our situation, ground based aircraft are much more useful than buying a carrier.

If we want some big ticket items, let’s go for nuclear subs instead. They might last longer against the big powers if it came to war than a single carrier (especially since no one has spent the money to install a big sub detection system like NATO had), and if we get cruise missile subs those would be a big threat to everyone’s carrier battle groups they like to play around with :P .

Edit: seeing the discussion on subs, Indhopal would have some experience with subs. If Shroomania is willing to share reactor secrets for low low prices, we might want to take them up on the offer. I see the FTO's needs as being a good non nuclear design for coastal defense and nuclear attack subs and cruise missile subs to ruin a carrier battle group’s day. BTW I want nuclear powerd subs as they are far more capable than their conventional brethren.

BTW, the Yer Mom class is similar in size and capability to the Ohio-class converted into an SSGN, except it has more goodies to make it quiet and is equipped with universal launch containers. Unless Shroom thinks it's unreasonable, but I really don't think having a Scintfaxi class superfleetkillersubattackcarrier would pass Marina :P

@ PeZook:

It's cool, seeing as the Ohio-class is the second largest submarine in the world, right next to the Typhoon.

@ Raj:

We can talk about this. Though it would be cooler if you just stuck with those diesel electrics. For one, they're not obscenely expensive. I mean, come on, you guys are Duchies - you should get the gear similar to what your real-life equivalents (Norway) get, like the Ula-class.

So silent that the Royal Navy crapped its pants! It's cool!

We can give them nuclear batteries, to make them totally cool - like PeZook's subs. Then we can give them Mach 3 cruise missiles, when we finish working on them.

I don't think we can refit any existing diesel subs to carry those evil modified P-800 missiles :D

As for the nuke batteries, to explain the concept: they are basically large arrays of RTGs installed inside a plug inserted into a diesel-electric sub's hull. They don't give a lot of power, but it's enough to recharge batteries without snorkeling if they need to, at the cost of having to periodically slow down or stop entirely. They also have the added benefit of not using any moving parts at all.

Basically, it allows a diesel-electric sub to lay silent in waiting for long periods of time. It's no good for wide open oceans, but it's just fine to stalk ports and naval bases where you don't have to move around much.

The Ula class is soon to be superseded by the Type 210Mod. The Ula class is the Type 210.

You can't fit MACH 3 cruise missiles in a diesel sub that small.

Something for the FTo guys to consider: We need to figure out how to control the joint armada. Right now I'm not sure who comands it. Perhaps an admiral from different FTO nation's lead it on a rotating basis?

So FTO guys, do you mind if the Emperor pays a visit, with the promise of not bringing an army for a bodyguard?

Well, sometimes, one cannot be too careful...

BTW, for the new destroyers I worked on for the past year, the one with P-1000 Vulkans are for within the SNC, since the P-1000 Vulkans are manufactured under license from Stas. Not sure if he wants the missiles to spread around.

We're.. kinda waiting for you and Stas to continue...

Side note: I changed the specs for the destroyers a little, after I realised that a 13-14,000tonne ship can carry way more than what I thought it'd.
