I don't think he's in love with her any more than he's in love with his hair. Frankly, as Yosubura pointed out while opening his eyes for emphasis, Alto's motivations aren't exactly clear. Hell, that's how the previous episode finished, with Ozma accusing Alto of being a directionless softcock and then running before Alto could address the point, leaving our intrepid new 171 pilot to perform(!) his patented expletive scream of anguish.

Well, he is an actor. Apparently that is even more true than we realized. It's like he's always acting like someone else. Can we even pinpoint his true aspirations? Is wanting to fly even one of them or was that just for his mother's sake? Do I dare say that Alto wanting to protect Ranka is the dread specter of moe? I lolled at the Valkyrie pilot's jynx. Kakizaki, your legacy lives on!

Yeah, that was great :D

It cracks me up though that NUNS is so poor even their pilots aren't drawn as well as SMS staff.

SMS types date pop idols (2!) and mayor's daughters. NUNS, however....

The Vajra homeworld is a great place for a new colony! And bringing the islands and city section along for the initial invasion won't be an utter disaster! Sieg Leon!

Yeah, El Presidente there seems to have excessive confidence in their ability to survive attacking what is probably billions of Vajra with full capital ship support and who knows what kind of firepower in that planetary belt. Hell, to knock out that belt thing as a threat will probably require breaking it apart, and when it falls it will utterly wreck that planet. To say nothing of detonating mass quantities of WMDs in close proximity to the world and what that would do to the biosphere.

This falls under the category of "Poorly thought out" in the same way poking a Cape Buffalo with a pointy stick and no back up is poorly thought out.

the wiki episode blurbs state that island one is is going to suffer a "fierce Vajira counterattack" after the U.N. spacy forces jump in and start fold-nuking everything in sight, so yeah, leon fucked up a bit.

In this week's episode, Grace channels James Cameron/Stan Winston, slash fans will be once again confused, and of course, with one episode to go, an Epic Cliffhanger.

They just killed Gamlin. Or maybe this is Physica. Damnit, I don't know what to think anymore. All we can hope is that the power of this machine can live up to the VF-17 legacy. Shine on you crazy Nightmare.

GET YOUR HEAD IN THE GAME VEEF. We've still got another episode to go. It's all a trick! Although I can't believe some of the crazy theories people are throwing about on MW as to what's going to happen next.

I'm calling it right now. Battle Frontier is reinforced by a fleet consisting of Battle 7, Battle 17 (as commanded by Admiral Gamlin), with Isamu Dyson commanding the new Emerald Force, and then a battered Megaroad-01 comes in to save the day with Miku Ichijo commanding Skull Squadron's VF-4s and a 70 year old Minmay sings once again while the Birdman returns with Sara and Shin at the controls to help destroy the Varja.

Or maybe Alto just comes on to the bridge of Frontier and takes the stage again.

It got better.

They actually were rebuilding it during Dynamite 7. Also VF-25 1/72 scale model has arrived!

I was fapping in time with you until Megaroad 01.

I really don't think the episode with the Meltrandi attack is in chronological order. Battle 7's miraculous resurrection isn't the only continuity glitch, it's just the biggest.

so, anyone guessing who the winner is gonna be in the series love triangle?

Maybe we should start a pool or something.

Personally, I don't give a shit either way, but i'll never let it be said I passed up an opportunity to skim money off a betting pool.

Although, I do feel kinda sorry for sheyrl. She got dumped on as a singing idol, and now ranka's uber fold-powers are surpassing her again, then, if alto picks ranka (assuming he isn't free-floating space debris) and to top it off, she's gonna die.

That episode isn't really an encore. More of an unaired episode. It occurs somewhere before the end.

I recently got a new friend into this series, and I actually said to him 'hey, I wonder where Battle Galaxy is', after explaining the whole Battle Frontier to him. I guess I know now. :D

I wonder who's side they'll be on.

Is grace working for the galaxy fleet, or is she leading a splinter faction?

If she led the vajira to the galaxy fleet, i'd expect them to be pretty pissed at her.

SMS will show up like Big Damn Heroes and save them all.

Grace appears to be working to her own Bitch Queen agenda which predates Galaxy.

I forgot to mention that Liza and the Zolan space force will show up followed by Basara and his army of WHAAAAALES! Also Chlore's fleet. And Emilla and Moramaria with the Dancin' Skulls. Also the VFX Ravens :3

Did anyone else notice that Machida guy was in one of the VF-171EXes? He's the true heart and soul of this show even if we never see his face.

Maybe it's just me, but I keep expecting them to make a reveal that Grace has ties to the Sharon Apple AI which somehow managed to survive.

Holy SHIT. 24 was incredible. The show might have lost some of its magic from episode 2 to 23, but now it's all back, + what seems to be DYRL scale (although in-universe reality I figure it's nowhere close).

That does make me wonder about fleet scale though. The Frontier colonization fleet is somewhat match the defenses of the Vajra homeworld. Does that the Frontier fleet is huge, or the Vajra defense are puny relative to say, the Boddole Zer fleet? Is the galaxy out there infested with more Vajra. But the Zentradi we know didn't recognize them outright as the "Supervision Army?" Or was the Supervision Army composed of many different weapons, of which the Vajra are just one?
