He didn't deploy that many Harriers, IIRC.

EDIT: Wow, Stas. Are you actually trying to twist Siegetank's words that far around? Didn't think they were that...flexible. ;)

I'm not yet ready to, but I'm thinking about selling my 3 Flight I Burke clones.

So neither Lonestar nor Shep are interested in my offer. Very well, then. Guess the Duchy of Langley just isn't useful for producing anything other than porn, games, and cartoons...

That's diplo-speak for you. "These lands" obviously refers to the AFSR, but the use of plural leaves a kind of context for the San Dorado dudes ;)

Well, I'm the other close nation, so I really hope he either refers to San Dorado or anything else that isn't my nation.

I won't invade Beowulf's colony just for gigs. There's nothing to be gained by attacking Czech, so why do it? :P

FTO nations have nothing to fear either. What is there to be gained by attacking you, tell me please? It's just Zorin being the asshole he is, writing a text that leaves a "what smug asshole wrote this?" impression. ;)

Vice President Verdes' visit to Frequesue will be focused on Northeastern Frequesue, so Coiler and Raj can feel free to describe it how they want. I was going to have the Sabikans be cordial if a bit standoffish - they're the ones who're irritated with what happened, dislike the arms limitations, and probably feel they should get more than Saffonburg - while when she gets to Omango the people greet her in a fashion similar to how Woodrow Wilson was feted by the French populace when he came for the peace conference after the Armistice with Germany. Large crowds flying the flags of Omango and Cascadia, accurate flags or crude hand-made ones, and singing hymns and songs, etc.

Also, yes, she's heading to Livorno to see Zorin and try to convince him to get his superiors to rejoin the conference, as well as to generally see how the new portion of the CSR is doing and be cordial and diplomatic and all.

Also, sometime in 2010 President Garrett will be visiting the Old Continent. I figure Neve Tikvah, Orena, Constantinople, Sarajevo, and Stasograd make up the short list. Farbanti is quite possible as well, even if I'm going to be a bit leery over what those crazy Shroomanians might do as a welcome. A visit to New Tokyo's not entirely out of the question either, Cascadia has nothing to gain from snubbing Japanistan after all, given we're such fine partners in keeping the seas off western Veleria safe for global shipping.

The prologue post was Aug 21st if I'm reading things correctly so that would be Jan 1st 2008 in game. We should now be in about mid-February 2009.

The 15th of the month was decided upon as the changing of years.

I put President Garrett's round of state visits that far in the future because some of these things really need to be planned ahead of time. Though it'll be a few weeks IRL before we get to that of course.

So, it took us a while, but we actually accepted SS-N-24 Scorpion in production.

Actually Steve, if you want to rope in the Exarch, you can send him along. He's been meaning to share some vodka with the Zorin, but missed him on the way in.

I think it would be cool if Karic, in a fit of genius, had facial reconstruction surgery by ripping the FACE OFF of a random Sjenskan and using it to replace his face.

Unfortunately, that particular random Sjenskan was a Shroomanian pedophile on the run from INTERSHROOM and so when Karic, with the pedophile's face, enters PeZookia, INTERSHROOM agents end up going hot on his trail.

They will never suspect that a man accused of jacking off to kiddie porn was actually planning the assassinations of a King and a Premier.

Put it in the "Atlantic" on the level of the "equator", or somewhere near there. Equidistant from Shroomania, New Sumatra (Japanistan), and the Old Dominion.

It'll be in the middle of nowhere.

Shroom, what are you basing your hypersonics again?

Also, I guess because your missiles are a lot lighter than ours (heck, our warheads are just plain larger), you could just maybe squeeze one per launcher in an Ohio. Because me and Stas are going right ahead and building a new Guided Missile Submarine just to deploy our missiles.

EDIT: Shroom, if I am reading it right, the X-51 which you based your missile off will take a few years to develop, and that was as at 2007....... so... you will need a few more years to squeeze all the bugs out.

My missiles are similar as yours in terms of performance, since if we are both trying to use our "current technology" to build the most effective missiles within a decent time frame, we would logically end up with similar devices. Well, you're using pre-existing decades old systems, I'm... making something else.

My missiles aren't a lot lighter than yours. The warheads of the Killfucks weigh 800 pounds, and Stas listed that the maximum weight would be around 1 ton.

Aside from the warhead weight (how heavy is your warhead?), the speed and the range of my missiles match yours.
Stas wrote:There are four parameters of a hypersonic cruise missile: altitude of cruise, cruise speed at given altitude, range and payload.

Typical altitudes are 7-20 km, highest cruise speeds for such heavy vessels currently attained at altitudes around such are 4-5 Mach, top speeds at Mach 6-7.

Down by the ground, in low flight (1-3 km alt), speeds for heavier supersonic and hypersonic cruise missiles range from Mach 1+ to Mach 3-, general technology bracket (if I'm wrong, correct me).

Payloads range from ~300 kg to ~1000 kg.

Range for a heavy cruise missile should be relevant - over 1000 km. Over 2000 km is good, over 3000 very good, 5000 km is very, very good and somewhere on the border of becoming a mid-range strategic munition.
The rest of the missile would be way more than 800 pounds.

Your missiles weigh 13 tons, but how much do the warheads weigh?

Okay, the picture is the X-51's. But look, if we're talking about hypersonic missiles, and if the Soviets made one in the 80s and the CSR and Byzantium are developing one now, then why can't I have my own successful hypersonic missile program that's bearing fruit at the same time?

Hell, I could just ditch the X-51's picture and replace it with a picture of a Russian hypersonic missile, meaning that my hypersonic missile project basically generated a carbon copy of your missiles. :P

Anyway, the Yer Mom isn't an Ohio-class. It's similar, but it's more advanced... with pump-jets and stuff. If Ohio-class subs can carry Trident ballistic missiles, then I'm sure hypersonic missiles can fit.

EDIT:

Woah, those Trident missiles weigh more than a hundred tons! THEY'RE HUEG!!!

Because Shroom, even Beowulf and phongn just started, and me and Stas are just rummaging the Soviet arsenal. The Soviets started working on supersonic missiles way before the Americans did, as far back as the 60s. They have a strong lead over them.

And 800lbs is about ~300kg. Not a very large warhead. Probably a 100kt nuke at most.

Well... 800 pounds is just 200 pounds short of the 1 ton limit, so I think it's good.

Considering that my missile's performance are similar to yours, can't it be acceptable?

(See, this is why I want the CCCP. I know jack and shit about these systems!)

EDIT:

800 pound warheads can reach 400 kilotons.

Erm Shroom, for starters lb <> kg. And 1tonne = 1000 kg = 2204.6lbs.

I'm not 100% sure how similar the two missiles are... I guess.. I dunno wave it and say you started 10 years of development? The US only started developing it like in the last decade or so.

And the missiles we are deploying? They were up and running in the 1980s.
