To be honest, the Killfuck program started when we still thought we co-operated more closely with the CSR

IIRC, the Buzzkill is just a modernized P-800 with awesome on-board electronics, new radar and a reduced RCS, designed to be spammed out of the Yer Mom class

I don't remember much about the Killfuck, though. At worst, we can treat it like a technology demonstrator at this point, at best it'll be another modified Russian design

No, it's not the Brahmos. It's the SS-N-26 with updated electronics, and capable of being sub-launched (and, well, much cheaper )

They had the technology to make such missiles, so that is very well possible Shroom could have something like a hypersonic missile. So don't go too hard on Shroom.

Remember, mass of missile, speed, payload and range are all interconnected.

For example, if Shroom's missile has a 800 kg payload, that means it will weight around 5-8 tons (depending on construction materials), have a size similar to that of Vulkan/Granit/Bazalt, and speeds from Mach 2 to Mach 3, probably a little higher on impact, with ranges around 500 km (400-800).

If his missile has a 800 kg payload but weighs around 10-12 tons, it can fly thousands of kms at a cruise speed of Mach 3-4 at high altitudes.

I'm kinda curious what the goals of his missile are. Strategic? ASHM?

The cruise range would have a slightly-under M=4 flight for 1 hour, then accelerate and finally arrive at M=5 descending on the target (on various pre-loaded descent profiles, of course).

Oh, and a 16-ton missile fitted on a ship so fast? Probably just one launcher - and it required to clear out a HUGE deck space Else, you'd be creating an entirely new class of cruisers.

Neither TICO nor BURKE could hold such massive missiles. Only a Kirov-class or similar craft.

Yeah, the Buzzkill is a pure AShM. The Yer Mom will carry Tomahawk knockoffs (lots of them) for strategic evilness at first, then maybe replaced with hypersonic cruise missiles at a later date. We needed to deploy a nice deterrent force fast.

The Killfuck is a next-generation Evil Strategic Missile. I think it's high time we detailed the various missile programs

Also, there are guidance problems with hypersonics (I'm sure most know that). The missiles, when going so fast, can damage their own communication systems. I'm sure everyone knows it. Might not be so important for short-range "sprinter" AShMs like Brahmos, but for cruise missiles loss of guidance is bad...

That's why our Meteorit-M has a cruise speed of M=3. At such speeds, loss of communication and thus missile failure is less likely (even if still possible) and thus reliability is increased.

HELA based missiles can and will be lost in multitudes until practice perfects a method to make hypersonic flying machines more reliably communicating with cmmand centers.

Yes, yes... I don't like enemy airfields full of bombers and fighters, so i decided to make a little something to render them unusable in case of war. A SSGN of such size lying in wait almost indefinetely if needed, and later release all it's missiles in a salvo.

The thing is hard to conceal, that's basic physics. Something like a SR-71 will tick off every radar, even the worst one out there. The Meteorit likewise isn't stealth at all, but it has some countermeasures (wake air ionizers) to boot with the speed and all.
