Crysis Warhead Force add: MGS4+spoilers
For this lets assume that during the conflict in Crysis, the BNB corps and PMC's associated with each are given the task of fighting the N. Koreans and stealing the nuclear casket with the alien queen. Solid Snake is behind this, wanting to form a new war economy, yadda yadda yadda...
In light of this, Solid Snake is sent in covertly to disrupt the PMC's efforts in attaining the casket. His primary mission is to destroy the BNB corps and ensure capture of the Casket by U.S. Forces.
Snake arrives on the island at the same time as the Crysis Delta teams, but is deployed away from any delta teams. He is supported by Otakon and the Nomad. Drebin sits this one out, as does Raiden. SS has access to the counter nano-bots .
All forces consist of what has been seen in all the games, Crysis, Warhead, MGS 4.
So, two parts: Can the PMC's fight their way past the Koreans and can Snake infiltrate and capture the alien queen?

Warhead had a plot? Oh, you mean that weak excuse to slaughter Koreans and some aliens.
That thing was actually relevant? Because from regular Crysis, I don't remember that thing doing much at all.
As for the scenario, SS is supposed to be the ultimate badass of sneaking and being awesome. I doubt the whole scenario would result in anything that would profit the PMC.

I don't know much about Solid Snake/Metal Gear, but I can at least provide some info for the Crysis side... first of all, the Crysis suit is quite impressive.
And from what I understand, it wasn't a 'queen', it was just one of their drones, since we saw it near the end of Crysis.
Also... 'BNB Corp? PMC?'
- Strength Mode lets its wearer throw people, oil drums and various appliances ten meters or more, and sometimes send people flying with a punch.
- Speed Mode lets the user sprint incredibly quickly for a short time, which is still enough to cover... perhaps a hundred meters(?) in two to three seconds, and then continues increasing the speed by a much smaller factor, maybe 150% of normal running speed.
- Cloak Mode can conceal you from enemy soldiers literally right in front of you (although they'll get suspicious, they usually won't see you). It can last for minutes if still and crouched, or a few (maybe 10) seconds if running.
- Armor Mode, meanwhile, is perhaps the least impressive. It appears to have poor protection against small arms, but is quite potent against explosives. In armor mode, it is quite possible to survive RPGs, IFV mounted weapons, even tank shells to the face (with no permanent damage). The Korean Nanosuits can also survive Gauss Rifle hits (also to the head), at least in the original Crysis (we don't know the velocity, but the projectile seems to be quite large). In Warhead, however, Psycho's suit appears to be incapable of stopping them. I don't know if this is characteristic of Psycho's suit or all American suits - the Koreans never used Gauss Rifles in the original.
- It also has additional features, some of which are conveniently disabled at higher difficulties in the crash that starts off the game. These include the ARTEMIS fire control system, which allows the user to remote control vehicle mounted weapons (and possibly get an exterior view, although it seems more likely that's pure gameplay); a built in computer with an AI of some sort for hacking into computers, which has never failed to work in the game, an automatic targeting system for spotting enemies hidden behind smoke/concealment, as well as tracking enemies you've designated with it's 'binoculars', a built-in zoom feature; a mechanism for detecting and warning of grenades; satellite maps which identify enemy positions and a 'threat indicator' (gameplay?); methods of monitoring suit integrity/power; an integral air recycling system for swimming; and, finally, night vision. Last, but definently not least, it provides internal temperature control, able to keep the user alive at temperatures of several hundred (at least -200) degrees below, though we don't know whether that's Farenheit or Centigrade.
And from what I understand, it wasn't a 'queen', it was just one of their drones, since we saw it near the end of Crysis.

The BNB corp is the special soldiers group secretly run by Liquid Snake in MGS4. They are the freaky looking "super"soldiers that are under animal themes, ie; raging raven, crying wolf, etc.Base Delta Zero wrote: Also... 'BNB Corp? PMC?'
As for PMC, it is a common abbreviation for Private Military Corporation. In other words, they're mercenaries.

Hmm. So if I'm interpereting this correctly, this 'Liquid Snake' guy and his BNB Corp are attempting to steal the casket, and Solid Snake is trying to prevent this? How many soldiers are we talking about in the BNB corp, and what skill level/equipment?

The only solid info on I have is on the BNB corp. They are 4 mercenaries using advanced tech fighting suits incorporating diverse skills. Here is a link explaining them better: Metal gear wiki. I tried finding info on the PMC's, but couldn't find a hard number. For this scenario though I should have specified. I'll pull this number out of my arse...lets say 5,000 combat personnel and about 2500 support.Base Delta Zero wrote:Hmm. Beauty and the Beast Corp. Yes, its a stupid name, but they're far from unimpressive, for the most part.Base Delta Zero wrote:Also... 'BNB Corp? PMC?'
Four chicks in power armour is what it basically comes down to.
Screaming Mantis does voodoo, but it only works if you use the Metal Gear universe nanowankery. So she'd probably be irrelevant as far as direct combat is concerned. She keeps the other three focused or under control or some such, however, so she isn't unimportant.
Crying Wolf has a four-legged power armour that is completely immune to near-future small arms fire. I can't quite recall, but I believe I fired multiple 40 mm fuel-air grenades at it and it shrugged those off, too. Unfortunately, like many video game boss characters, it has an idiotic weakness, in that the pilot must expose her entire body to enemy fire in order to use her railgun.
The railgun itself can down Gekko's in a single hit (though it needs to be charged up for some time before it can do that) and boasts range and a scope to compete with the game's sniper rifles.
Raging Raven is, perhaps, the coolest of the lot (its the wings.) Anyways, she can fly using flexible, flapping metal wings, and always has a host of unmanned drones in tow, loaded up with homing missiles and smart bombs. She herself seems to have a 40mm grenade launcher of some sort for self defense, in addition to firebombs and missiles. Oh, and she can cut folks in half with her wings. But I'm sure most jets can do that at speed anyways.
Silly thing with her is that she sits paraglider-like under her wings. Very exposed, in spite of rather heavy-looking body armour. That said, she took quite a pounding from my M4 before going down. I suppose that could be attributed to game mechanics, though.
Laughing Octopus can disguise herself as just about anything. The disguises only seem to work in the visible spectrum, however. She can also very rapidly move from place to place (ninja-like), and put up an inky black smokescreen that is impenetrable to IR. She's got a P90, and four robotic arms that are quite capable of crushing folks, skewering folks, and/or tearing folks apart.

And how exactly would this number of troops get there? You'd need a ship at the very least, and there's a large number of Koreans and an American carrier group (at least two carriers, the inLexington and the Constitution) in the way.I'll pull this number out of my arse...lets say 5,000 combat personnel and about 2500 support.
The wiki says she can deflect throwing knives... with telekinesis too, which isn't all that impressive, since the attackers will be using guns. It's also concievable she could manipulate nanosuits... but unlikely.Screaming Mantis does voodoo, but it only works if you use the Metal Gear universe nanowankery. So she'd probably be irrelevant as far as direct combat is concerned. She keeps the other three focused or under control or some such, however, so she isn't unimportant.
Is the railgun the only weapon? I don't know if the Crysis Gauss Rifle would penetrate that kind of armor, but it seems probable, if unecessary.Crying Wolf has a four-legged power armour that is completely immune to near-future small arms fire. Also critical is how resilient this power armor is to extreme cold temperatures. From what I read on the wiki, it's not very much.
What about Solid Snake?

I don't really have all that much information about the BnB Corps that I think is reasonable to conclude from my in-game experience alone.
This video should back up at least some of what I said.

Haven troops and as many gekkos as were encountered in game are present. Note, that the flying wings that accompanied raven and the drone helos are present also. Drone helicopters shall be armed with hellfire missiles.Ryan Thunder wrote:A few questions regarding the OP:

Okay, I watched the video and have to admit it's rather impressive - especially Crying Wolf's sheer strength in being able to lift a bulldozer... somehow, and a speed on par with Crysis Speed Mode, although that suit has to be incredibly uncomfortable...
Raven... I'd have to put the speed at 'hundreds of kilometers per hour' rather than a jet's 'thousands of kilometers per hour'. Still enough to make ground fire a difficult proposal... except of course for the AAs that the Korean forces have all over the place.
They're definently as dangerous as the alien Hunters (big flyey things) and at least Wolf is better (armor, strength, and speed) than a Crysis suit (although Crysis teams tend to have better equipment) Probably Octopus too, although her tactics apparently consisting of 'stand still, attack things within reach' won't do any wonders.
I don't know whether they'd be all that influential though... I suppose they could reach the container fairly quickly...
Meanwhile, two more questions:
1. Does anyone have an info on Solid Snake?
2. How will the PMCs get on the island? Because there's a US Carrier Group and perhaps dozens of Korean cruisers/destroyers in the way.

None of the forces have info on Solid Snake at this point.
The PMC's arrive concurrently with the U.S. Forces but at different locations. Assume Outer Haven is their sea base, along side contracted Russian vessels equivalent to their N.Korean and U.S. counterparts. The Merc Flotilla will only act in defense of Outer Haven.

Damn, that's a few mercenaries. But why should their vessels be equivalent to the U.S. Counterparts? One would imagine they're a bit older... MGS 4 being set in 2014 something and Crysis in 2050ish?
No, I meant 'do you have any info on Solid Snake you can give us so we can better analyze his chances'. Although... what exactly is his objective?None of the forces have info on Solid Snake at this point.

Sorry about that!
Solid Snake is an expert special forces soldier, with decades of experience in weapons, infiltration, hand to hand, etc. Many of his abilities are now augmented by his octocamo muscle suit and nanobot infused bloodstream. His sneaking suit better described here: Sneaking suit and Octocamo.
The nanobots in his blood stream help regulate adrenaline production, heart rate, and allow remote monitoring of his physical condition. The nano bots also stem blood flow from open wounds, accelerating healing.

He also had a serious heart disease for many years (FOXDIE's first incarnation) which may or may not have manifested purely as a sudden death or may have also caused long term damage.
He's also a former smoker.
Both of these conditions could affect his capabilities in action. He's an old man now, afterall.

Re: Crysis Warhead Force add: MGS4+spoilers
My mistake. I think the real winners in this scenario could well be the invaders. With the three forces fighting each other (as that's the most likely outcome), they might weaken each other enough for the aliens to destroy them, after all they did destroy an entire carrier group. On the other hand, the extra forces might give them the upper hand the Terrans need to contain them.
I doubt the PMCs or Snake would be able to retrieve the casket, simply because they don't have adequate protection from the cold, from what little I know. Snake might be able to pull it off if he somehow knew where the casket was going to be taken, and intercepted it before it could be loaded on the submarine. If he does that, however... how does he plan to extract it? He presumably can't just call in a VTOL.
