Xbox arcade recommendations?

Post by wautd »

Which arcade game would you recommend a worthy buy?

For me, I recently I got hooked on Castle crashers. Fun gameplay and great graphics for a modest price.

Braid, very fun puzzle game. I don't think I've ever played anything like it before. One of the greatest parts of the game is that so many little details are important in one way or another.

Except DN3D is a bit of a weak port, even compared to the port of Doom and Marathon, which got widescreen HD resolution, not sidebars, a bit of alpha blending, and a 5.1 sound upmix.

If you want an arcade FPS, both Doom and Marathon 2 are better choices than Duke.

Yeah, why the fuck did they not include widescreen??? Jesus, that would have been so easy.

As for other good XBLA game, definitely agreed on Castle Crashers and Braid. Bionic Commando: Rearmed is good, as is Rez HD if you like techno.

Rez HD is awesome.

Doom and Marathon 2 are decent ports of good games.

Gripshift is pretty fun. It's a strange racing/puzzle combination, vaguely like Monkey Ball, but with a Mario Kart like multiplayer.

Rockman 9!
Ikaruga; 1942 and Trigger Heart Exelica if you are into shooter

if you want trippy experiment Lumines; E4; Rez HD or Space giraffe are good choices

Geometry Wars is a nice robotron-like game.
