I even tried creating an species with no hands, to see if they had a handicap on the tribal phase, as the game suggests you should give them hands to use tools (I was expecting you could not use tools from the buildings, and as such had to kill the other tribes with your natural skills, the only thing from creature stage that had any significance in tribal stage), but no such luck, the creautres just pick up the tools with their mouths and use them with exactly the same proficiency.
Of course, it's a bit hilarious to see the band playing maraccas with their mouths.

Really? Interesting...I should change my Puppeteer race, then, as I'd snuck hands onto them by making them smaller than the heads were (shrunk them down to minimum size).LordOskuro wrote:I even tried creating an species with no hands, to see if they had a handicap on the tribal phase, as the game suggests you should give them hands to use tools (I was expecting you could not use tools from the buildings, and as such had to kill the other tribes with your natural skills, the only thing from creature stage that had any significance in tribal stage), but no such luck, the creautres just pick up the tools with their mouths and use them with exactly the same proficiency.

If you use arms to create long eyestalks, you can place hands smaller than the eye globe on the end, and have creatures that pick up objects with their mighty eyelids!
Of course, you can also use a single leg (don't know why arms won't fuse into one but legs do) to create a trunk of sorts, or a mighty penis of holding.

Tentacles are hard - the best thing I've been able to manage was creating really long, multi-jointed limbs.Typhonis 1 wrote:Any way to create the octopus style Martians from war of the Worlds?

Can't you get ride of the eyes?
Or shrink them down and put it on the end of the eye-probe at least, so that there'll only be one?

Genius is always allowed some leeway, once the hammer has been pried from its hands and the blood has been cleaned up.
To improve is to change; to be perfect is to change often.
