Ha, JD beat me to it. I'm loving him more myself. If this debate is called a draw I'm going to be annoyed.

"Best ally of the region". Where do you think Spain lies in the spectrum between good ally and Axis of Evil, McCain?

So Herbert Hoover is a Democrat now, Johnny?

"OBAMA == HOOVER!" Bah, such crap.

Obama can't keep a straight face through this either. He keeps laughing at the most ridiculous lies.

Man, what, is that the best McCain's got at this point? "Obama wants to raise your taxes and talk to mean foreigners!!"

I'm concerned that McCain's rhetoric may penetrate. He's coming out a lot stronger than he did previously, and that gut instinct may resonate with voters. But I could be wrong.

It will resonate mostly with those who are already well on McCain's side. If this tired old rhetoric was going to penetrate very far, it would have done long before now.

Edit: That post was a response to Eris, not necessarily a general reaction.

Also, I'm certainly loving him more for actually explaining his position and not just parroting pie-in-the-sky ideas, but I think a lot of people get bored with that kind of thing. Of course, this debate seems to have plenty of spice for the intellectually challenged.

I think someone needs to introduce this Joe The Plumber.

The way his big black eyes dart up and down all the time, he looks like a groundhog tripping balls on shrooms. And given that he thinks fucking tax refunds is the best way to meet health care crises, he probably has the brain of one.

McCain was stunned when Obama countered his "fine Joe the Plumber" attack. He really looked absolutely shocked that Obama had an answer.

I just loved McCain's face when Obama said how much Joe's fine would be.

Ha, McCain oh shit face moment number two.

And @ Capt. Jordan, yes I know the feeling. I'm very worried that people buy into the record. I think Obama owning, but I'm smart and educated. I have very little faith in the American electorate, so this could go far worse than I expect. If we had a sane country, this would be embarrassing for the McCain camp.

"The fine? Zero, none."
"NONE?"
"None."

McCain was literally slack-jawed and stunned for several seconds.

The fuck are you grinning for, McSmug? Maybe you buy that Obama hasn't smacked down your asinine Reaganist health care policy, but you're quite alone in your delusion.
