I just found out about this. Apparently it's a big to do in Washington that amounts to a roast by politicians. Both McCain and Obama spoke, and it was pretty good.

I'm torn, I wish the campaign had kept this kind of tone through it all, but on the other hand, if McCain had been this good all the way through it would be a lot closer now.

Otherwise, excellent find - seeing both candidates joking around was refreshing to see. The good-natured roasts of one another were pretty funny too - I'll have to agree with Ender and say that McCain was better at it than Obama was, though.

I enjoyed this, and I do think McCain outshone Obama that night. My favourite was his reference to Palin's "palling around" comments. United States Senate, a bunch of no-good punks? Hilarious! And I enjoyed seeing McCain laughing at that too. It seemed quite geniune, which is a little rare to see in the middle of a campaign.

I don't get the whole 'Joe the Plummer' meme so he was snoring me for the first 2mins, but I perked up with the Clinton thread, and then sort of dozed again. McCain killed on his closing though. Obama had me lol'ing from the start though.
