Particularly in Linux, although the same may be true in Windows, haven't full tested it yet.
So here's the full gist. I go to transfer a file over to my sisters computer via USB flash drive, and each of my 3 drives are either recognized and not mounted, or not recognized at all. I try both front ports, as well as one of the motherboard ports, but they won't mount (or won't mount properly). I try my external hard drive in the front, and as far as I could tell it wasn't recognized, but try it in the back port, and it's fine. I take the time to throw the requested file on it as well as my latest set of backups.
I had a similar problem under windows, when a Compact Flash would be assigned a drive letter, but I couldn't open it. It worked fine a few days before.
The only thing I can think of that would be doing this is Daemon Tools, which I recently installed. That kinda sorta not really explains why this is happening under Windows, but it shouldn't be doing it under Linux. Any ideas?

Re: Trouble mounting flash drives
Addendum: I tried restarting X to no avail. Also, I know the front ports are working properly because my bluetooth dongle works in them.

Re: Trouble mounting flash drives
So flash drives appear to not be working under Windows either. I'm going to try unistalling Daemon and see if that's the culprit.

Re: Trouble mounting flash drives
Crisis seems to have been averted. Daemon Tools still stands as my primary suspect. Haven't tested it in Linux yet, but since everything works under Windows properly, I don't think I'll have any problems.
