I'd almost swear it looks like it was that colour originally.

Kinda like that one piece of production artwork for TPM where Yoda had black robes.

If I'm not mistaken, that avatar is a little bit larger than the maximum size.... I guess being an administrater has it's perks....

It's 100x90, so technically it is.

But since it's Mike's board, he gets to do whatever he wants.

Whatever you do, Mike, please don't change the avatar size limit: I'd have to change ~35 avatars...

Actually, I boosted the maximum avatar size to 100x100 pixels for all users. Call it a belated Christmas present! Bigger avatars for everyone!!!

What about increasing the max file size to 10KB or so?

That would eat bandwidth, and you can use JPEG to make a 100x100 pixel avatar very easily fit within the 6kB limit (mine is only half that).

Scaled down from the original source picture. Anything under 10K makes it look so so as a GIF, and it looks like murky shit as a JPEG.
