Well he is living, it's just that he's not living for himself. He's living for Lockon and Lockon's goal of rebuilding the world into a better place. Setsuna is still in his whole "I am Gundam" thing, even more so then before because of Lockon. He's actually functioning with some more restraint, intellect and focus now though (similar to how he was right at the end of Season 1), probably because of living for Lockon's goal.

I can't help but feel that CB was taking a huge risk by letting Sestuna F Hobo run around like that. Wouldn't it have been incredibly easy to lose a true-GN drive that way?

Eh, not really. From the way they and Setsuna himself were talking about it, he was mostly just doing covert ops with Exia. He was keeping tabs on the A-LAWS and their movements, but possibly doing small interventions on his own/helping the rebels. That's why Tieria was saying that "If he's alive this will bring him out" about the A-LAWS little trap for the rescue attempt. Setsuna himself says "Am I being targeted?" in regards to the nature of what was going on. He knew this was something that would draw him out into the open. So really, it doesn't seem like until what we see in the first ep that Setsuna was getting involved in something that could risk the loss of a true GN Drive and CB was right there ready and waiting to back him up.

I watched it, and I thought it was a good beginning to the new season. The jury-rigged Exia was amusing (it was the Terminator!), and it had plenty of hooks to keep me intruiged - some of which were expected, others not so. Craaaaaazy Louise, for example. Also Sergei's son was not something I quite expected, but of course Sergei Smirnov has a son. He's like Genghis Khan. Also, those director comments that the dude in the mask is not Graham is now clearly a lie. He still talks like a crazy person.

He's still pleased that he is a Virgo. I mean, I don't know where they're taking him now, but the possibility does exist that he has completely abandonned the name and identity of Graham Aker. The director's comments implied that he had in fact died, and while you could technically make a case for 'Graham' being dead, so long as Mister Bushido still says total nonsense when kicking ass, I'll be pleased.

Yes, but if "Graham" is dead then doesn't that mean that his love/hate for Gundam should have died as well? So if Mr. Bushido is happy to be a Virgo, like Graham, concerning the reappearance of Gundam then not all of Graham can possibly be dead. Oh, the mystery deepens .

Ok, so episode 2 was all about putting the band back together. Spoilers. Setsunna does his patented "tell everyone I'm with Celestial Being" thing which manages to get Lye and Sumeragi to go with him. We also get to see that Katherine Mannequin (Taisaa~) and Soma are part of A-LAWS. No sign of the AEU's ace pilot yet. They also show with a quick profile shot that Soma is now fully grown. And that comic about Lyle totally called it as both Haro and Felt gasp at the idea of Lockon being alive. Also the 00 Gundam is total hax.

I heard that its lockon's(whoever it was who died in the first seas) twin brother who'll be replacing him....

doesn't this remind anyone of the movie beerfest after one of the characters(landfill I think he was) dies?

Well it's not quite as bad as Beerfest. Lyle is letting them know he's embracing his new identity as Lockon Stratos, most likely because of his connection to Kataron and wanting CB to welcome him into the fold without thinking about him as an outsider to be watched.

I loved how he responded when evryone on board the Ptolemy were all surprised/amazed to see him; "Well, that's a hell of a welcome!"
He does seem quite different from his brother though; not as easygoing and a lot quicker to point out how ridiculous CB's actions are.

And for some reason it really cracked me up to find out they call the red Haro just "Red Haro". No idea why.

Lyle almost annoyed me, actually, the way he said he was "Lockon Statros" so soon and just generally shooting off his mouth. To some extent I see some differences, of course; Lyle seems to have had the harder life. I wonder if Lyle has / can develop Neil's legendary girl winning kindness and warmth.

Ending to Gundam 00 : Gundam Meister. It has some stuff that fills in the gaps after the end of season 1. They totally confirm Lockon's death. Try not to cry again.

Having seen epsiode two, I was pretty amused to note that Setsuna telling everyone he meets that he's with Celestial Being served a purpose. 'Now you have nowhere to hide.' He was generally pretty harsh to Sumeragi, in his neutral Setsuna sort of way. Poor Billy.

Episode 3 hell yeah! The team rescues Allelujah from his terrible Hannibal Lector cosplay and he is able to cause flashbacks in Soma by calling her "Marie." Lyle continues to sound like a total prick. He calls Tieria "cute" and even asks Haro what his brother used to say when he was sniping the target. That ol' Irish charm is getting him far. Also Allelujah's heterochromia is so moé.

Notice he took off the head of the GN-XIII with his first shot, shot the leg off another, then proceeded to "miss" all his other shots...in such a way that FOUR GN-XIIIs bitched about being unable to get close to him. That's with him paying more attention to Kataron's rescue attempt than sniping at the GN-XIIIs as well. He knows what he's doing. For somebody who claims to have never piloted a MS, something's fishy.

There was a while when a lot of people on the boards thought that the original 4 meisters were average or bad pilots, whereas I think there's evidence now that there is more parity in mecha power that the meisters are quite good, if not Ali or Graham crazy.

Normally I'd just chalk that up to the long-running Gundam cliche that piloting a giant robot is easier than falling off a log, but the fact that they repeatedly made a point of drawing attention to it sort of precludes that. It's probably just that he was an MS pilot for Kataron, but there's not really a reason for him to lie to Tiera about that.

Also: I liked Arios' Gundam Alex-style wrist gun. And the fact that 00 and Arios' method of "landing" was to plough Kool Aid-style through the wall. It would've been fucking hilarious if Arios hadn't stopped in time and had just crushed Al into paste.
