As usual, some of those (Sumeragi, Lockon), aren't half bad. While others (Patrick, Graham), are atrocious. I'm glad it's getting licensed, but I think I'll be watching it subtitled like some kind of nerd.

What were the president (or whoever he is) and Ribbons saying in the beginning? I couldn't understand it well enough.
Isn't it odd that his "code name" is listed as "Lyle Dylandy" but his "real name" is blanked out? Mistake, or something else?Dendrobius wrote:Also if you pause when Sumeragi was reviewing Lyle's stats http://img360.imageshack.us/img360/8468 ... 001ht9.jpg, his shooting and piloting stats are essentially

That was interesting. The Allelujah rescue sequence was awesome, but more interesting is that Ribbons is using Veda to manage the A-LAWS, and by implication, other Federation related matters. Well, at least we know now how he's keeping control of this new government he was responsible for. Also, this raises an interesting point, could Tieria use a TRAIL system to lock down the A-Heads and GNX-IIIs?

Fake Obama: Hey dude, thanks for organising A-Laws for us . A four million men organisation, we couldn't have done it without you and Veda's help on the IT side of things.
Fake Amuro: Sure, no problems, glad to be of assistance . We can't have the Federation compromising for any reason now, can we? For great justice!
Fake Obama: Right on. Look forward to a mutually beneficial relationship between the two of us.
Fake Amuro: Of course, we were born for this reason .
Yeah, A-Laws' IT backbone is Veda. So, theoretically, Fake Amuro can just pull the plug on the A-Laws any time he wants.
(I'm sure you all know, but it's worth reiterating; Ribbon's VA is Toru Furuya, AND Ribbons once piloted 0 Gundam. What else to call him but Fake Amuro??)

I know the industry is dying, but does replacing all of the sound effects and making everyone sound totally ridiculous make people want to watch the show? Setsunna sounds like his voice should be coming out of Sergei. Is this how you treat your flagship title, Bandai?

Maybe the actors will settle into the roles as the series goes along. Michael Dobson as Sergei is perfect already.VF5SS wrote:I know the industry is dying, but does replacing all of the sound effects and making everyone sound totally ridiculous make people want to watch the show? why did they have to redo the sound effects though?

Blarg, didn't notice the misspelling. However, it would still be an interesting way to handle the issue. CB was forced to create a new OS since Veda ended up being compromised, I just think it'd be funny if somehow they were able to turn that back around on Ribbons.Ypoknons wrote:Only if he upgrades the "trial" system to the full version.avatarxprime wrote:That was interesting. But it didn't work on the Thrones when Tieria tried to use it on them, so I think Libbons has a workaround for the TRIAL system they were using 4 years ago.

It did work on the Thrones though, they were completely disabled. The part where it stopped working was when the Meisters actually tried to attack the disabled Thrones. So, it's possible that in these four years they've tried to find a fix for that and counter-hack Veda.

It's a good thing Graham is dead. He would never be able to stand such a raging weeaboo like Mr. Bushido. Graham is only one who can surpass Ashura. So is Marina turning into Relena? I know she wants Setsunna to stop killing. Also Lyle is a dick. Haro is not a toy! Neither is Felt, buddy. It's a good thing she's legal now. Although, isn't Lyle like 33 now?

Haros in 00 are really smart and do human emotions pretty well. While I know Haro's "Feldt's in love" was probably for comic effect but seriously, a robot that can recognize human emotions such as love? Or did Feldt tell Haro? That's almost better than Tieria.

Erm, Lyle's being anything but a dick. As he said, it's a way of waking her up to the fact that he is not his older brother.
So far in S2, the tech gap between the Gundams and the rest of the world seems narrower than in S1. The two custom Aheads were fighting an even fight with Arios and 00, and in Arios' case was downright winning. CB's going to be leaning a lot on Kataron to do anything this time around I think.
Alleluia losing his skills because Hallelujah is "dead" was a bit unexpected, and only makes CB's job this season that much harder as well. Aww, pity, given that the Al + Hal combo is probably be the best pilot in CE-verse.

He was still more than holding his own against the A-LAWS in episode three, so it's not like he's useless. I would be surprised if he doesn't regain his hypermagical "quantum brainwaves" (wat lol) somehow, though. I'd prefer it his second personality came back altogether though, as Doublelulajah was the best thing about the last episode of S1.Dendrobius wrote:Erm, Lyle's being anything but a dick. Re: Gundam 00 - Second Season.
Once the world got its hands on GN drives - even Tau type GN drives, there was basically nothing stopping them from matching practically Celestial Being's technology. The real GN drives are actually superior, but the difference in performance is not all that great. Even before, when the Gundams were capable of near Dynasty Warriors level mayhem, piloting skill was still basically a factor.Dendrobius wrote:So far in S2, the tech gap between the Gundams and the rest of the world seems narrower than in S1. Re: Gundam 00 - Second Season.
Really, the only major advantage the true GN drives have is that they don't need recharging like the Tau drives too. It also might be more difficult for the Tau drives to generate GN shields, as the A-LAWS were still surprised by Seravee being able to, and the only Tau-equipped units to so were the Alvaaron and the Alvatore, neither of which were exactly typical pieces of the technology.Ford Prefect wrote:Once the world got its hands on GN drives - even Tau type GN drives, there was basically nothing stopping them from matching practically Celestial Being's technology. One thing I didn't notice the first time I watched this episode is that CB apparently learned from their first ship always having to rely on the Gundams for defense and armed the Ptolemy; it apparently has "gun bays" which the Trilobyte's sea-spooge sealed shut.
The Trilobyte seemed a bit odd, come to think of it. In the first season it was mentioned that mobile armours were pretty much relics of older, less miniturised technology that were almost totally out of use except for specialised uses. There's obviously no problem with GN-driven suits operating underwater, why wouldn't they just develop an amphibeous suit if Aheads or GNXs weren't suited? The only thing I could think of if it was like the Alvaaron which was basically "Let's bolt on as many GN drives as we can and see what happens!" (It had like eight), but the Trilobyte "only" had two. A minor thing, but it bugged me somewhat.
And Mistah Bushido's japan fetish even extends to his beam sabre; it's hilt is shaped like a katana's! What a tool. Soma's Ahead is a weird custom job as well; it seems to have only one central GN-disperser binder instead of the standard two. It doesn't seem to be emitting more GN particles than the regular Ahead binders soooo...I dunno, seems odd.
Also, did anyone else notice what seems to be a rebuilt Throne Zwei hovering over Azadistan in the next episode preview? Ali's back! Shit is about to get serious!

Re: Gundam 00 - Second Season.
Al by himself was about to get dismembered by Soma in this episode. He wasn't holding his own, he was losing, and losing bad. The funniest thing about it is him saying, "It's not the machine, it's my skills, and the lack thereof" in the middle of the fight when he's getting manhandled by Soma.
The only reason I put Hal + Al over Graham is because of Ep25. Taking on two named aces in a Gundam missing an arm, a leg and all ranged weaponry, then going on and utterly dominating the fight means he gets the MVP award. Graham on the other hand came out in a brand new GN Flag against a depowered Seven Swords Minus Six Exia and only managed a draw.
Soma's Ahead's GN Binder layout is just like her old Tieren Taozi. Two shoulder shield thrusters, and the straight back one. Nice touch, if you ask me.

He only wanted to be hu-man. He must know what hu-mans call "love." Right now all he knows is what hu-man's call "loss" and it makes him even more lovable. And to think of all the ire we had for him during the first season. Now we morn with him.Ypoknons wrote:That's almost better than Tieria.

But at the same time, what does Haro want? Does Haro just want to be hu-man? Haro too has suffered loss - big brother to the Thrones and Lockon. Does Haro need to know love to be human?
For me, Arios needs to do something cool, something more than fly in, spray machine gun shots don't kill anything and fly out. I'm not quite satisfied yet - I know there's the fighter mode claw, the GN Gatling (in the arms, I think) but its still not doing it for me...

Re: Gundam 00 - Second Season.
Well proper GN Drives seem to be capable of operating at a higher level than Tau drives, it's just they don't all the time. From the performance of the Thrones it seems like it's GN Drive<Tau<Trans-AM GN Drive, with GN and Tau being pretty close but Tau edging out a little back in Season 1. Now in Season 2 though it appears that the proper GN Drives are perfoming better than Tau drives given how the Gundams are performing now. It seems that Tau drives were simply better tuned than the CB Drives were back in Season 1 and since now they are doing things like Alvaaron did (i.e. Seravii and the GN Shield enhanced cannon fire) GN Drives are probably operating better than Tau drives. It also helps that proper GN Drives don't damage themselves when they are operating (except for Trans-AM) unlike Tau drives.Manus Celer Dei wrote:Really, the only major advantage the true GN drives have is that they don't need recharging like the Tau drives too. I think it was simply an issue of depth. Sumeragi was saying that they were too deep to launch the Gundams, which I was interpreting as the Gundams wouldn't be able to operate in that depth. And even now, the Gundams are still technologically superior (even if only by a small margin) to anything the Federation is fielding so, it's possible that a big mobile armor was the only way to be able to function as down and deep as Ptolemaios 2 was without risking getting crushed.Manus Celer Dei wrote:The Trilobyte seemed a bit odd, come to think of it. Also, to me it feels like we're back in the beginning of Season 1 with the Meisters running around in MS that have capabilities beyond them. 00 is capable of more than what we've seen, although this is no fault on Setsuna's part the result is 00 is operating at less than it's truly capable of. The new Lockon is not his brother and therefore is operating Cherduim below its capabilities as well and Al obviously is not operating Arios where he should be. The only one who is probably working his mobile suit at or very near where it should be is Tieria since he has had so much time with it. I imagine once the Meisters get more in-line with what their Gundams can do we'll see some better work from them.
