Do not hijack another thread, or you'll get another warning. Because I'm pretty sure that was another effort to deliberately broaden the topic to your favourite tune of late.

As for why they didn't employ orbital attack during the Battle of Prospection, there could be any number of reasons. Not least because by the time the chaos forces theatre shield/jamming system was disabled, the enemy titans were already in the Western Prospection. That systsm was specifically set up by the chaos forces to prevent the Imperium doing just that.

Any orbital attack capable of destroying sixty titans at that point would surely annihalate the huddled masses a relatively short distance away in the prospectors' shanty town 'subsids' and possibly the hives themselves.

The Imperium is callous, but only when it has to be. That's what makes them different from Chaos. While they'd try it if they had to, they had a perfectly good titan legion on hand (which might have been lost in a strategic bombardment too) to try and defend the people of Orestes.

As for tactical bombardment. We're only shown a small part of the Battle of Prospection, and the vast majority of it occurs between the chapter describing its opening, and the chapter describing Legio Invicta limping back in triumph.

Last thing I want is to break the rules again at this point. So no, that wasn't my intent.
