I actually got it in the opening. No way in HELL a Presidential campaign bus would get stopped for 4 hours. Hell, after a thought, I realized it wouldn't have stopped at all, as SS would have just flashed a badge out their window and the Sheriff would be lucky if they didn't run him off the road.

It didn't initially say that Obama was in the bus, Havokeff, so it was much more believable if you read "campaign bus" and thought "charter bus filled with volunteer college students going door to door" and nobody important on it.

You know, we go over this every time someone mentions the American South. Yes, it is a stereotype to brush all Southerners as retarded redneck, it is not a stereotype to make not that the majority of Southern States has a statistically significant number of people who openly express the type of bigoted attitudes that are simply unacceptable in any civilized country. I mean, I come from a relatively affluent rural Illinois town and I find it embarrassingly racist and bigoted, and every time I was in the South I saw the same or worse attitudes expressed by numerous people I encountered, even in the larger urban areas, fuck even at Disney World. It's not a stereotype to say that there are massive cultural problems with the American south, just like it isn't to say that Urban Black culture has a number of terrible social memes. It's a fact of life, but "Southern Pride" and "Gangsta Pride" don't help to fix these problems, neither does mindless defense of the South and inability to admit just how fucked up some of the cultural attitudes are.

Yes, yes, back in the days of segregation in Houston, the University of Houston was the "white" school while right across the street was Texas Negro College aka the "black" school. Today, UH is completely integrated while the school across the street, renamed Texas Southern University, is still (essentially) all black. Its still racist segregation.

There are more inbred racists in the U.S. South then elsewhere, and a perverse intersection of virulent racism, religious fanaticism, and a disdain for education is the major cause the Democrats, progressives of all stripes, and Obama in particular, find it the hardest place to campaign in the country. Get over it, the reason the original routine is funny and satirical is because it has a strong kernel of truth, and the South has a long tradition of backwards racism. You barely repealed laws banning marriage between blacks and whites in the last decade. To your credit, the South is pretty bad, but rural America everywhere is pretty damn bad.

After all, the generalization that the South is still quite racist has considerable evidence behind it: Alabama narrowly legalizing interracial marriage in 2001 by a 60/40 margin, the continued presence of segregated universities and fraternities, etc.
