Thank god they included all of the areas on the same map. IIRC there was some speculation that it would be a handful of separate campaigns.

How much are players going to have to research? The had platoon firing a the only option so far in the research category, which seems to indicate that training and discipline are covered by tech.
Does that mean that aside from militia units, every unit is going to have the same amount of skill? Because that would be odd. It would mean that there is no levels of training, that all your men throughout the empire are equally good. It would be a huge simplifier but it just seems as odd.
On the other hand, the graphics are awesome. I'm not going to be able to run this on my computer.

What makes you so sure? The in-game campaign maps in the video never showed the entire world at once, it was only ever either europe or Indonesia. I hope it is simply a single global map, but I wouldnt put it past them to muck that up.Thank god they included all of the areas on the same map. I would assume that research would simply improve the starting level of skill units held, like some buildings do already in existing TW games. Skill development is one of the trademarks of the series, I doubt they'd drop it.Does that mean that aside from militia units, every unit is going to have the same amount of skill?

I've heard one interview where CA confirmed that in the end, there is still one huge campaign map, execpt with areas you can focus on.

I just realized the answer... the tech tree is how they deal with that. Opps.
I wonder what the highest quality unit is and how they will prevent a repeat of the Urban Cohort armies.

You make the best units a) expensive, and b) take forever to train. That way the dumbass trying to do an all elite army gets rolled over by the guy who went for a balanced one.Samuel wrote:I wonder what the highest quality unit is and how they will prevent a repeat of the Urban Cohort armies.
