That's not what it said originally. Haro quoted Domon's God Finger routine.

Re: Gundam 00 - Second Season.
So the point of this entire episode was to get us to sympathize with those damn dirty Kataron. Although I must admit, I d'aaaaawed when Marina showed her motherly love towards one little kid. Of course it made Setsuna have a flashback to his mom (the one he killed in cold blood, remember?). And for A-LAWS, automatic death robots is the new G3 gas. Also Prince Ali is back.

1. Well the GN Emitters explain a lot - the Kataron base and the 'Bushness' of the Federation.
2. Though we've known that Sestuna is was a child soldier for about a year now, seeing his flashbacks whenever there are child around helps drive the point home, though a bit corny. Tieria's joke was hilarious though - I'm ready too to see Marina and Sestuna get it on at home like bunnies.
3. There is the part where Shirin says she tried to "absorb" CB - that seems more like her old self.
4. Kataron lost their one Flag! Nooooo....
5. Some Numerberg traces here - if therefore murders, what about those who only followed orders? Or those we passively condoned it?
6. And it was a second chance at being a father adoption after all. Sergei's being all good guy this episode. Ugh. Ali must feel all alone is being bad.

I said to me friend that the guy who got to pilot their Flag must hve been really pleased with himself, simply because of how awesome they are.Ypoknons wrote:4. Kataron lost their one Flag! Nooooo....
Sergei, and in fact most of CB's antagonists, have always been good. Prince Ali enjoys being a monster, and the Trinity siblings were basically nutcases, but you can pick just about anyone from the big three in the first season and they would have been essentially decent people. It's all about the moral ambiguity.Sergei's being all good guy this episode. Ugh. Ali must feel all alone is being bad.

Re: Gundam 00 - Second Season.
I wouldn't say Alejandro was a good person at all. He wanted to rule the world. And while not a bad person per se, Graham certainly wasn't fighting the Gundams because of any sort of altruistic reasons, aside from avenging the Flag Fighters; he just seemed caught up in the challenge.Ford Prefect wrote: Sergei, and in fact most of CB's antagonists, have always been good. And, y'know, the amazing Patrick's motivation for most of the series was trying to get into bed with his captain.

Re: Gundam 00 - Second Season.
Obviously Corner is another exception. However, I don't think that Graham or even Patrick fighting for their own reasons necessarily invalidates the idea that they were basically good people; Ian makes it quite clear that the essentially altruistic motives of Celestial Being are being perpetuated by people who have their own personal reasons for doing so. Sure, Patrick wanted to impress Colonel Mannikin, but shit, who wouldn't? Graham might be unreasonably in love with fighting Gundams, but he was still basically fighting for his nation, as well as to avenge fallen comrades and his mentor and so and so forth.

Re: Gundam 00 - Second Season.
Eh, that's basically. I wish Sergei this episode rather than being good deeds / good heart by letting Saiji go was more conflicted, more of a Code Geass bad deeds / good heart or good deeds / bad heart or just torn between duty and heart.

Team Patrick generates his own kind of love, just because of how obnoxious and transparent he is.Manus Celer Dei wrote: And, y'know, the amazing Patrick's motivation for most of the series was trying to get into bed with his captain.

Eh, apologies for the incoherent posts - I'm really distracted by my last midterm, which I really need to ace. It was supposed to be "that's basically it" and a "was" belonged somewhere within the run-on sentence in the middle. Will actually contribute substance tomorrow.

Man, Kataron are pretty well off to afford their own sandbox full of mobile suits.
I wonder if there was any particular reason to set the automatons to "indiscriminate massacre" mode, other than A-LAWS being run by a bunch of cunts.

And sorry to double-post, but I thought the part where the rebel suits charged out of their hangar was really cool. It might just be the novelty of seeing mecha actually walk for a while.
Soma was looking a bit wibbly during that entire fight scene, who wants to bet she'll jump ship at some point in the future? Sergei's looking like he's got a bit of a death-flag.

Re: Gundam 00 - Second Season.
And a Virginia class transport. The Anfs and Hellions are easy enough to imagine, because the HRL and the AEU dumped them all over the place before the series even began. However Tierens (including space models!), Enacts and a Union Flag is pretty impressive. It's not like the ESF have totally mothballed them - there were High Mobility Tierens at the prison until they got tsunami'd.Companion Cube wrote:Man, Kataron are pretty well off to afford their own sandbox full of mobile suits.
Duh, they're the Titans all over again.Companion Cube wrote:I wonder if there was any particular reason to set the automatons to "indiscriminate massacre" mode, other than A-LAWS being run by a bunch of cunts.
Something I like about 00 is that even though the Gundams, and now the GN series and Aheads, are all magical floaty, when they actually walk they feel pretty massive. The Exia practically thundered around when walking across Marina's courtyard. When Patrick actually uses his legs in demonstrating the Enact, he takes a chunk out of a building. At times it even feels like this mass translates to when they're flying - Union Flags seemed like they actuallly had some inertia to them. Sometimes, anyway.Companion Cube wrote:And sorry to double-post, but I thought the part where the rebel suits charged out of their hangar was really cool. Re: Gundam 00 - Second Season.
I must have had some selective memory going on (or had sections of it obliterated by the end of Code Geass), but now that I think about it, season one had Anfs and Tierens stomping all over the place, yeah.Ford Prefect wrote:

Serously, that was a really good scene. You've got to respect the guts of the guy in that first Tieren to run out into the A-LAWS' guns.Companion Cube wrote:And sorry to double-post, but I thought the part where the rebel suits charged out of their hangar was really cool. Yeah, they're laying it on really thick there. It might just be a bit of misdirection, but I hope he at least gets a chance to totally school Sumeragi again like in S1 before the Meaningful Death Scene.Sergei's looking like he's got a bit of a death-flag.

The Wild Bear needs to get his game back on, yeah. Either he breaks his foes via the power of his strategy or he gets back in a Tieren and crushes the fuck out of someone's head.Manus Celer Dei wrote:Yeah, they're laying it on really thick there. I wonder if next week the A-LAWS will burn down a shelter for abandoned pets. And God continues his five-year Saji Crossroad hate-on.

at this point 'being killed messily by Louise, who then realizes she's become what she hated and has a BSOD.' isn't the worst thing that can happen to him.Companion Cube wrote:Wonder what he's going to do next episode? I really don't understand why people want Saji to become a pilot. I hope the O-Riser is just a bleein' drone so we won't have to deal with Mr. Whinny McIgoteveryonekilled. And if they killed him it better not be followed by an AMV remember the good times. Fucking episode 18!

Re: Gundam 00 - Second Season.
Prince Ali's new ride - and the name fits: Principalities. Probably not the exact translation they'll be running with, but close enough. Ironic that the upgraded and rebuilt Throne Zwei actually loses "angelic ranks" to get knocked down to Principalities.
I know there is a method, but all I see is the madness.
Re: Gundam 00 - Second Season.
Actually, the anime boards have Ali's new ride down as "Arch Gundam."

Re: Gundam 00 - Second Season.
Going by Wikipedia, "Arche" is the greek term from which "Principalities" is translated, so that's presumably where the confusion comes from. Even if it's misspelled in the series, that would fit in with the Gundam names (Exousia, Dunamis, Kuriotes, etc)tedisbest wrote:Actually, the anime boards have Ali's new ride down as "Arch Gundam."

It's too bad the terminally depressed don't kill themselves via OD'ing on opiates or something. I found the Kataron charge out to be pretty heroic... and stupid. They don't even have GN drives and are piloting suits that were sorely outclassed years ago. They would probably have done better sitting in the bunker and sniping, they'd have lived that extra 30 seconds more.
Seriously, they didn't have another exit somewhere? Pfft.
I meant to ask, is that new unit Nena pilots a mobile armour made from her Gundam's chassis?

Possibly. Prince Ali's new ride is clearly based on the Throne Drei. It'd be funny if her old Gundam was inside just like with the bling bling Mobile Armor for the last episode.I meant to ask, is that new unit Nena pilots a mobile armour made from her Gundam's chassis?

Eh, but a Drei with a GN buster sword.
Saji... The next few episodes is going to be his story, so it'd better be good. As in interesting and not contrived. The A-Laws using automatons to slaughter Kataron wasn't that bad though - slaughtering enemy soldiers on the ground with machines isn't any different from just bombing them with a nice, big bomb. It was just a little overkill that they didn't give the rebels a chance to surrender, but seriously, its a bloody war, is killing the enemy that bad?
