Not so much Techpriest Chow-Yun Fat as it is a 1d10+6 dam, AP 6 shots each round, for 20 rounds of combat. You've basically curcumvented both the Overheat (as the Kronus Mk III only overheats when fired on Maximal) and the Recharge characteristics which make Plasma weapons such a pain.
Of course, if you're really desparate to kill something, you could also dual-shot it on Maximal mode, at the risk of getting an overheat result on both guns at once. You hit something with that, and it's very likely to be greviously wounded, if not outright vaporized.

If you really wanted to go overboard, you could integrate them into good-quality concealed weapon bionics, which would automatically make them immune to Overheating.
In addition, v2.0 of the Dark Heresy errata has been released! Among other things, it has opened up the Armorer tradeskill as part of the normal career path of the Techpriest, starting at rank 2!
