Not a surprise. My state passed the basically identical Prop 22 about a decade ago, and not much has changed since. Let's hope it doesn't take the supreme court so long to overturn it this time.

No talk of bipartisanship or compromising in this speech.
Bullshit, as addressed by the rest of his speech.

Now, let's hope that vile Palin disappears back from whence she came. I don't want to hear from her again.

Speaking of, what happened with Stevens in Alaska? Damned if I can find anything about it. I may have missed it here in this quickly-multiplying pages.

Well, it's done. More than 147 years after the first shot was fired on Fort Sumter, a man born of Africa has been raised up to the highest office in the nation. Some uneasy ghosts can finally rest.

This means that on the 150th anniversary of the start of the Civil War, we will have a black man as our President. Nothing could be more suitable as a way of celebrating it.

Yeah... I know. I am sheltered by San Francisco and the East Bay. I forget about the rest of the state and how idiotic and "Red" it can be.

The US has just regained a lot of credibility and gained a huge amount of good-will from the rest of the world.

Let's hope it is justified (I think it is).

Off to work (Both me and the US) ;)

When you're out in the sticks, 24-hour Christian radio stations is the only thing you get besides the Spanish stations.

There are a lot of rural communities out in California than most people realize, and if they shaded out red the areas that voted primarily 'Yes on 8', just about every part of California would be red except for the areas along the coast.

It's the United States. We fly flags all the time - of course we're going to overdo it for a Presidential election
