No - Troughton was a little under nine months younger.
So then by "no" you mean "yes"?

Anyway, the reason I asked was because that pretty much undermines the "each Doctor is younger than the last" theory from the get-go, since it didn't hold true for even two regenerations.

:wtf: No - you asked if Pertwee was younger than Troughton. I replied that Troughton was younger than Pertwee. Therefore the answer to your question is "no".

Google translation:
Sent to hell by this terrible news. I hope this is a lie.
Really wasn't worth the effort.

Google translator must be a lot better these days. I put it into Babelfish, and it came out like this:
This fearful news is transmitted in the hell. This is my desired lie.
Back on topic, according to today's Sun, it looks like RTD and Moffat are actually choosing the new Doctor together. Hopefully that'll preclude any chance of RTD lumping his successor with a crap lead actor.

IIRC Moffat had a hand in the selection of Tennant, too.

According to a bit I read in the Sun, they are aiming to get a 'grandfather' aged Doctor in the 40s. It also had a quote from Tennant suggesting that Billie Piper should be the new Doctor... my opinion of Tennant has dropped as a result.

I do, actually.
She was generally entertaining, and usually not too much of an idiot.
I preferred Tate, but all good things...

I happen to like her too and I imagine a large portion of the fan base will as well. She is as much a part of the successful re-launch as Eccelston so I would consider it unfair to claim otherwise and she happens to have occupied the strongest points of the new series so naturally she will be well liked.
That said, Billie's role in Doctor Who seems to be getting far more attention than it should and in Tennant's case misread. How the fuck you can suggest the Doctor's companion becomes the next Doctor and not see how silly that sounds is beyond me.
The story arc with Rose was limited strictly to a romantic intrest with the Doctor which is now finished with S4's end. Bringing Rose back fully seems rather unlikely and they cant really justify bringing her back for small episodic cameos without bringing in Doctor Tennant back as well. Which essentially makes me think Tennant is either spewing random shit to get him out of the focus or he wants to keep a potential foot in the door so he can come back for christmas specials etc.

Oh, frell it. Do people really think there is any chance Tennant was anything but joking with that? That is typical Tennant-humour right here. And since when is The freaking Sun considered a reliable news source?

That said, I liked Rose as a companion very much and I wish they had ended it with Doomsday. Not because I do not like happy ending, but I dislike the utter crap that JE is.

Tennant also endorsed Jimmy Krankie. I very much doubt either suggestion was serious.

Indeed. For those who aren't familiar with the history of Who, Tom Baker tried this same trick when he was the outgoing doctor, suggesting they were looking for a female actor to take on the role. I believe a feminist organisation actually took it seriously.

Honestly, Judi Dench could own the role. And that woman from "The Curse of Fatal Death" wasn't half bad, either...

Joanna Lumley —Patsy from Absolutely Fabulous but also the female half of the duo Sapphire & Steel.

Judi Dench could certainly fill the boots of the Doctor —except now the BBC could never afford her.

Well, if she were British, I could see Angela Lansbury filling the role... :P
Wait a sec, she IS British!

While I'd like to see a female Doctor, I think that the Doctor always being male is too well-established to overturn without an explanation. It would be best to make that sort of thing part of the plot device that they're going to need to use when the Doctor runs out of regenerations, which won't be too far off.

Silly boy. The Doctor has as many regenerations as the writers need him to.
