Spanky apologized not because he has certain views on sex, but because he jumped the gun and insulted people as "immature" for joking about it, thereby not taking it as seriously as he does.

That we can agree on. Insulting others for difference of opinion is the last resort of those who simply can't argue for their position but he still does have the right to hold those opinions.
