In response to the religion poll, I've decided to initiate one that attempts to "measure" the extent of our beliefs. Think of it as more vertical than horizontal. I myself am basically a deist with a Christian background, who has occassionally been "tempted" by agnosticism.
As a sideline, I was wondering whether Intelligent Design (acknowledging millions of years of planned evolution) could be classified as a theistic belief. It implies the existence of a slow-moving interventionist God. Furthermore, I would also like to know where you would place the Anthropic Cosmological Principle. It states that the universe was created with the conditions that would allow life to eventually evolve.

If what you said is a good summary of it, I'd say it is a deistic belief.Rathark wrote:http://www.winternet.com/~gmcdavid/html ... ropic.htmlRathark wrote:Furthermore, I would also like to know where you would place the Anthropic Cosmological Principle. I would call myself an agnostic who won't completely rule out the existence of the vague god, but will rule out all revealed religion.

I'm studying for the CPA exam. Have a nice summer, and if you're down just sit back and realize that Joe is off somewhere, doing much worse than you are.
Eww too many fundies, who voted for the most religious end of the spectrum. Well most people don't know what they are talking about, so it's more like half go to the theist option closer to the middle
