Recommend a new mouse

My old Logitech MX310 is apparently on its way out, and so I ask thee for replacement recommendations. It must have a cord and the price tag shouldn't be bigger than 60e. In case it matters, the operating system is Vista 64. Ideas?

In a mad rush of "too much money in my purse" I bought a Microsoft Sidewinder mouse last year. I liked the look of it, it's got a metal scrollwheel which feels and handles nice, it's a laser mouse with up to 2000dpi sensitivity you can tune down in three freely configurable steps by pushing simple buttons on the mouse itself (although I wouldn't want to miss 2000dpi even when not gaming, it's just nice to never have to move your hand a lot). Got two thumb buttons you can freely program or put macros on for games and the likes.

Fancy useless stuff: you can replace the mouse feet to adjust for different surfaces, and you can adjust the weight by adding/removing little weights. Fancy good stuff: it comes with a cable holder box you can place near the monitor or so, which helps avoiding a cable mess.

Price was € 66,-; but I think it'll pay off. I've never been disappointed in Microsoft Mouses, before this one I had an "Explorer" type mouse which served me well for 5 or 6 years.

What's wrong with the old G5? It's got two thumbs, a tilting scroll wheel and a silly weight sillyness. They're reasonably old, though, I'm not sure on availability. The only 'feature' it doesn't have is the frictionless scroll wheel thingo.

Amusingly logitech seems have put the MX518 back into production recently, that was a pretty good mouse. I use a G5 and I am pretty happy with it.

I can only speak of what I know and prop this one up again. It's as accurate as anything you'll need although I hear it doesnt't (other than an exorbitantly priced BF2142 specialty version) work on reflective or mirrored surfaces.

Also, mouse-life consideration, the 1st thing to go will probably be the scroll wheel. It's an important consideration because the SLIGHTEST disturbance of my old G5 scrollwheel (as an early adopter, sucker that I was, I got the black and orange G5 which had only a back button; they've since gotten a black and blue almost spider-web like styling and a forward and back button, for internet browsing, while retaining everything else) would scroll up or down, and then oscillate nauseatingly between the 2 as it tried to 'set' itself on one... gear or another or something ... as my finger just RESTED on the scroll wheel. The click buttons still worked fine, though. This was after 2+ years of heavy use and I got the new one for the added functionality and to replace that defect. So I can sell a shoddy one if you're buying.

I've got the newer G5 with the 2 thumb buttons and havn't had any scroll wheel issues so maybe it was only the older model G5's?
