What a view... For a moment, with the engine flare, it looked like the shuttle was flying through Hyperspace like the Falcon.

I thought night launches were a big no-no after the loss of Columbia.

Given that they can't get anything like as good a visual on the orbiter to make sure nothing bashes through the heat shield again...

They'll have plenty of sunlight, and eyeballs from the ISS, to give Endeavor a good once-twice-three times-over before their deorbit window approaches.

Even from north of Tampa, it was a hell of a sight! The full moon, contrasted with the smokey orange of the SRBs, was magnificent.

Me and some friends drove to Titusville to see the launch. We were right across the bay when it launched, and wow. It looked like a second sun

It was a fine view from Tampa, even with some partial cloud obscuring.

Great view from here in the northern suburbs of Orlando. Can't help but feel privileged to be able to see these launches, even during the day, from my front yard all these years. I shall miss them, though here's to seeing the next generation of ships launching. And safe mission, Endeavor.
