SGA 5x15: "Remnants" Talkback (Spoilers)

Post by JME2 »

Sheppard is captured by an enemy he thought was dead, while Richard Woolsey undergoes an evaluation by the I.O.A. Atlantis discovers the existence of an ancient alien species on their new home planet.

Alright, here's the usual talkback thread as SGA moves closer and closer to the final five...

Bah. did the shiny CGI silicon-based alien AI have to be humanoid?

I really liked this episode. John Sheppard going Die Hard again was definitely cool and Kolya chopping off his hand genuinely shocked me, although I immediately started thinking of a way to press the reset button. Thankfully it didn't come to that. I also appreciated seeing how the IOA "members" act out of sheer self interest rather than doing what's best for "everyone".

btw, who else thought of Head Six when it was revealed that Woolsey's new friend wasn't real?

When Sheppard's hand was cut off, I was thinking the series is winding down so lets have a major character lose a body part!

was anyone else thinking of puns at shepherds expense through the whole episode? I imagine Kolya peering over the side of the cliff and shepherd looking up to say "I could use a hand!"

That last scene with Rodney was good.

I thought something was up when the Genni soldier just disappeared near the beginning of the episode. I was thinking Wraith mind trick (which they haven't brought up for far too long) or forced hallucination. Glad to see I was right. The fact that McKay was also under the influence from the start was a nice added touch.

I was greatly impressed with the episode. In fact, while SGA has had some bad episodes over time, I don't believe the "Stargate Voyager" insult I used to hear being thrown around is in any way justified save by fans who demand 100% perfection.
