The actual Spaceship One program had a budgit of $25 million you know.

Yeah, forty years after space agencies everywhere did all the work on developing different critical systems :)

Indeed. If anything, the thing should cost several billion. Since the Comrade Stanislav Factory shows a big "FO" sign to privateers looking for spacecraft materials research, composites research as well as thermal and pressure protection calculations for hulls.

Do it yourself, don't forget the army of scientists you'd have to pay :D

Of course, if you pay the Comrade Stanislav Rocket Factory around ~100 million, we could make a deal. What? We have a crisis, every little helps, Zor

I do. But the prospect of future deployments remains grim, I'm just noting that all heavy financed projects have been set back a year or more due to this crisis unless you get some external funding...

Well, much of that stuff would be released to FASTA member countries, but a lot of systems design and testing wouldn't. I'm not sure describing FASTA's approach to information sharing as "fuck off" would be accurate :D

EDIT: Oh, and it seems SpaceshipOne isn't even a spaceship: it only flies up to 100 kilometers.

...so why did you single me out then? Especially from an in-game perspective, where the word "S.T.A.R." hasn't even been uttered by any of my posts?

Is Zor even in the FASTA? Why does it have then agencies which scam him for monies? ;)
Lonestar wrote:...so why did you single me out then?
I didn't. I wanted to make a post about Korolev pondering Orion ships, mistaking OD "Star" cruisers for new spaceship projects of sort from a newspaper headline. If the STAR abbreviation is secret or something (why would it, AEGIS isn't secret?)... then I can remove that and just have them ponder Orion ships.

It was secret until Wilkins posted it, which is why in previous posts I used the term "AEGIS Sucessor".

Yep, he is part of the FASTA, and BnL isn't an agency, it's an unscrupolous megacorporation which was implicated in a fast food health scandal a while back :D

From what I saw in the Senate, you guys were talking about fanfic editing(although you did mention STGOD).

I hope they can fix that soon.

P.S. Damn, that's one awesome spaceship. :D

P.P.S. Stas do you plan to say anything at the SNC meeting?

Just to throw things out, has the CSR considered making a chain of state run fast food joints like "Commie Burger" or something? :P

No, the CSR doesn't plan to make fast food chains other than the local ones, where food quality is checked by a GOST standard so that no chemical junk food creeps in. This is national health issue, and even as it drives up the cost of fast food, healthy population is better than (not so) cheap restaurants.

I'm actually ambivalent towards this whole thinggy. It might turn out to be a LAEM plot point!

I think we should stick with realistic shit, like Shroomzilla or something.

A Vorlon. Mysterious interfering near-godlike aliens of greta power in the Babylon 5 'verse. They seemed to know what was going on all over and make predictions about the future, and the phrase "and so it begins" was their stock phrase when a (seemingly) random act of plotness materialized.

And knowing is half the battle!

In fairness, I posted the STAR thing first (even mentioned what the acronym means) then Wilkens followed on. It was secret, but only insofar as making the "STAR destroyers" thing a surprise.

Which none of you lamers have yet to comment on. At least in OOC, you bastards.
EDIT: SiegeTank is the only one to make an in-game reaction to the name. The rest of you suck. :P

(I'm not counting Stas, since he didn't do the Star Wars reaction, just reacted to it being some space thingy)

Now, the OD may not have mentioned the word STAR, so your guy having a reaction to them would be silly. But if you made a reaction to Wilkonia or the Shinra Republic (or even just a generic "MESS") it would make sense.
