Hell, Megs had too many good lines in that series; I can't think of an all time favorite.
Megatron's snark was awesome.

Heh, and don't forget this classic one:

"Excellent, yeeeesssssss....."
I suppose it's the mark of a great voice acting performance that I can't read that line in any context without hearing Kaye's Megatron.

From what I've seen of animated I've been surprisingly impressed. It pays some nice respects to what has come before.

BW though still was probably the best Transformers cartoon. "Code of Hero" and the three-part "Agenda" are some of the best Transformers stuff ever produced.

As noted though, season 3 was a bit of a cluster-fuck. From what I've heard Hasbro started demanding some more of the slap-stick humor, as well as a more drawn out introduction to the new toys (as opposed to season 2 which tried to get the new toy introductions out of the way quickly, in a few episodes). One way this impacted the season was it left the resolution of the mystery aliens story-arc kinda half-done. They were apparently supposed to be some off-shoot of the Swarm from the Gen 2 comic.

An excellent show and the only reason I even bothered watching Beast Machines for as long as I did.

"Now I enter these hallowed halls...a conqueror...yesss. Autobots and Decepticons, still frozen in emergency stasis, awaiting a moment, four millions years hence, when they will awaken to start the Great War. The Great War. Where the Autobots defeated the Decepticons, and thus, their descendents, the Maximals, rule we Predacons. Archaic Energon guzzlers...how dare they!

Unwilling though I was to follow my namesake's instructions, it has all come down to this! The ultimate risk...for the ultimate prize! A day of reckoning...for those who made us slaves!

So, we are now face to face, Optimus Prime. In one future you'll become the great leader of the Autobots. But time, shall take a different course. In memory of the Decepticons! For the glory of the Predacons! For the Cybertron that is rightfully ours...and mine to rule! Farewell!"

Five hundred years ago, everybody knew the Earth was flat, and fifteen minutes ago, you knew that humans were alone on this planet. Imagine what you'll know...tomorrow."

Aren't the people who did Beat Wars the same people that did War Planets (for the brief time it was on)?

Also, Season 1 of Exosquad is on Hulu.
Many thanks! These darned computers always screw me up. I calculated my first death-toll using a hand-cranked adding machine (we actually calculated the average mortality in each city block individually). Ah, those were the days.

Megatron is the only villain we can see sitting in a hot tub playing with a rubber ducky and STILL remain menacing and diabolical.

"Ah, the Maximal base! Undermanned, poorly defended... ours for the asking."

"Aw, now we ain't gonna ask, are we? Howsabout we just blast our way in there, fry everyone, and take it?!"

"Mmm... Ok!"

"You're insane."

I remember that the main character of War Planets was also voice-acted by the same guy who did grown up Enzo Matrix fom ReBoot.

Shadow Raiders, and Heavy Gear, and the Action Man reboot. Those guys really knew how to turn crappy toys into good TV shows.

Nope, they called the show War Planets when I saw it.

And as for Scorponok and Terrorsaur: their deaths actually spurred me to write the only fanfic that I have ever penned.

Er...typed. but you get the idea.
It boils down to both of them breaking out of the cooled-off lava a few seasons later, Scorponok joining the Maximals, Terrorsaur getting insanely powered-up again and going Kefka, Optimal Optimus fending off an assault by most of the Predacon cast using one of the Ark doors as a weapon, and an exploding mountain or two. I think. I wrote the thing back in high school.
Ceci n'est pas une signature.
