I know someone who's bought into this thing, hook line and sinker. It's a frightening comment on the state of scientific education in the US that people can put this crap up on the web and people will believe it.

Planet X threatens us? All it's got is abundant supplies of Ylludium Phosdex, the shaving-cream atom.

Planet X?.And what about Herc?

Post by Alnilam »

Here, some "illuminated" are talking about a planet called "Hercólubus","Hercolúbus",or something similar that's bigger than Jupiter, and will collide with Earth, and kill all us...unless you buy the book about that planet and make what's recommended there (astral voyages, and other weird stuff,at least it's what they say).
The problem is the planet hasn't arrived yet (and as you may've guessed),probably it will never arrive.
Wonderful...if we hadn't enough problems on this planet, now we've to worry about two planets in collision course against the Earth. Is there any transport that travels to Orion? :D :D :D :D :D :D

If there is a planet like this planet x and it have an orbit of 3600 years i don`t think there would be life on it.

Also, with a really wide orbit, it would be very cold almost all of the time, and near the sun, making it unsuitable for any life, it would get extremely hot. But hey, if someone thinks that a planet like that would even be possible, they might as well aliens are on it too.

We have to also look out for Planets Y and Z. The gravitational pull of X caused them to follow on course. Y will crash into the Sun and cause a solar detonation and Z will touch the Earth's surface and cause Armageddon!

I need to find some of these people and fast.

They should be quite willing to sell me their property dirt cheap if they are true believers.

We can only hope.

The science on that is so shaky it's anti-entropic!
Actually this bears a strange resemlence to When worlds collide (it may be different but that's basically all I can remember)
A book so bad the movie was better. And the movie is so bad it's funny.
This seems just as bad in a literary sense.

Planet X is also known as the Death Star.

Or Nemesis.

Oh, God. Not Planet X.

If you want a real tear-apart of everything Planet X, just look at sci.astro.* There's a number of morons there who keep promoting Planet X in the face of all reason... even though they keep getting torn to shreds.
