Same here. I may have started that, though ;)

BTW, I calced my current provinces at 40+40 (me and denmark), since the eight conquered ones are going to be sucking up 200 points per turn, rather than paying it...

Which gives me 16 000 points, 10 000 is spent on army upkeed.

That means I can equip all my archers wif gunz and bring them up to strieltsi level. Hah! :P

I will also buy motherfucking giant eagle cavalry!

No such thing as a free lunch. No no.

ARe we going to use total points of holding territory or troops? Personally troops makes more sense (and also forces less expansion).

How about I go and make your cities go insane, huh? Would you like that? :P

Or maybe I'll just ally with Zor. His guns are better than yours, anyway...

I asumme both: that I have to pay 200 gold for integration costs (Goddammit, you call that a road?) and I have to station 200 worth of troops (fortunately, I have a crapload of militia for this very purpose :D)

No.. but you doubling your territory without any problems rankles, especially when people grumbled about me taking nearly 30-40 territories.
Or maybe I'll just ally with Zor. His guns are better than yours, anyway...
I think it's a little too late to ally with Zor... And my guns will shortly be as good as his. I'm merely biding my time.

Why not 200 worth of troops for the first 1-2 turns, then 100-200 gold for the next turn, depending on how fast you want the area to develop?

Why is it too late? We had a bit of a scuffle, yeah, but it's over. And he sent Radoslaw a wedding gift, unlike all you other assholes :P

Mostly because I figure I'd start investing gold immediately.

I'm referring to game rules in general. As it is, I am more or less over garrisoning my land since I'm deploying both lots of troops and ships. Investing in the land to get at least half producing fully next turn is within reach.

It's not free. Radoslaw had to marry! :P

And I'll freely accept political moves designed to limit the damage such a personal union would cause - it's only sensible, after all.

I can still call you guys assholes while I do that, though ;)

You need a post? 'Coz you can assume it was sent, unless you want some details. I figure some diplomatic staff, 50 or so battle druids and a couple of witches for security and communication, plus ordinary soldiers (you don't want to go around crushing skulls with telekinesis all the time, you know)

Well, the favour can be returned.....

And marrying? That's creative writing.

Because of the proposed Grand Alliance, I began maneuvering for allies, which includes Zor. I offered him quite a bit in return.

Baerne, What the fuck? Can we have no secrets? Fuck this.

I'll let this slide now, but the next person that claims to have seen the Shadow Lord through some magical orb or some such shit will soon have the full might of my Demonic Armies descend upon them.

How about in future if you want mysterious knowledge of your opponents doings for no outlay of effort or scouting you have to pay for it with mana so it isnt a something for nothing deal?
Admittedly it's not like Baerne cant afford that he has a huge mana budget for cinematography.

Look- we're also conveniently treating the entire continent of Europe as if it's as small as the average Joe's back yard, so people knowing when others have a cataclysmic battle with huge magicks thrown around willy-nilly is hardly far-fetched, all things considered...

Of course you can have secrets. But titanic, reality-bending battles between demigods are kinda hard to conceal, you know? And like Darkevilme said, I've got five thousand points of epic magic to throw at the problem.

Fine, as I said I will let this slide now. But you can expect that any future such events will be protected by powerful magics and if you try to take a peek, the warp will open and I will come through to rip your hearts out.

Worst case scenario, we both open the gate, and go through together.

4000 points is nothing to sniff at.

Hmm...The Duchy's forces seem distinctly lacking in overly powerful characters. I'll have to do something about that.

Yes, Tremble Mortals for you are doomed.

Hehe. :D

But seriously, I plan on adding some more points to the Dark Lord, next turn, thus making him even more powerful. :D

Feh, I just use more casters for the same effect :P

Though I think I will pay for Dobrogost as an actual character next turn. I'll justify it IC, somehow :)

So, PeZook, how does the king feel about an enormous church being in Krakow now? Especially since I imagine it is one of the more spectacular buildings in the city.

Lighthearted jesting aside, this does touch upon something I was wondering about- what if, say, mage A battles sorceror B, in which B has more points assigned to him personally, but A has more mana stuffed in the armory? Because that way, I could conceivably just keep stocking up on mana (not penalized by upkeep!), conveniently teleport my main dude to any battle, and smithe the unbelievers with, say, 10,000 points worth of raw magical power.

Frankly I think we'd be better off letting go of the points system as such and just role-playing the whole endeavour. As Shady and Fingolfin just demonstrated it works quite a bit better than this 'snatch more provinces before the other dude does' affair.

It appears to me that the point system will prevent this game from degenerating into the flaming arguments over minor points of economics or national budgeting so common to SDN's World. We ought to keep it, not least because it simplifies the purchasing of new units so much.

Karmic Knight, what forces are you committing to the alliance? I've got everything not directly involved in the pacification of Ireland, and my navy is heading into the Mediterranean as we speak.
