I'v got a dieing 1st gen 750gb 7200.11 Seagate which I use in a portable which heats upto 55C if left running for too long under load. Please tell me you didn't get an enclosure with just USB support. You really want Firewire and/or eSata support because it makes for transferring large files (or a lot of small files) so much faster, and have USB just as a backup. The sustained rates for USB 2.0 are significantly lower than that of Firewire, as USB can only burst up to 480MB/s. Besides, I have a bit older hardware than most of the people have here.....None of it has external SATA or Firewire Support.
