It's the maker of the thing. Not God. I forget the name.Grog wrote:Sir Sirius wrote:KJV wrote:And he made a molten sea, ten cubits from the one brim to the other: it was round all about, and his height was five cubits: and a line of thirty cubits did compass it round about.

NP and 'he' is Hyram from either the tribe of Naphtali or the tribe of Dan, depending on do you take the word of 1 Kings 7:13-14 or 2 Chronicles 2:13-14 on the matter.Grog wrote:thanks and is the he god or someone else?Sir Sirius wrote:KJV wrote:And he made a molten sea, ten cubits from the one brim to the other: it was round all about, and his height was five cubits: and a line of thirty cubits did compass it round about.

A bit more on the same topic. The "molten sea" is mentioned in 2 Chronicles as well.
Now compare that to the figure 1 Kings gives.KJV wrote:4:2 Also he made a molten sea of ten cubits from brim to brim, round in compass, and five cubits the height thereof; and a line of thirty cubits did compass it round about.
...
4:5 And the thickness of it was an handbreadth, and the brim of it like the work of the brim of a cup, with flowers of lilies; and it received and held three thousand baths.
-- 2 Chronicles 4:2 and 5
KJV wrote:7:26 And it was an hand breadth thick, and the brim thereof was wrought like the brim of a cup, with flowers of lilies: it contained two thousand baths.
-- 1 Kings 7:26
BTW The Skeptic's Annotated Bible is a great place to check things like this out.
