Infinite Blue Shift

Post by Enola Straight »

When an object falls into a black hole, any radiation it radiates becomes red shifted due to the dopler effect.

What if the opposite were true? Is there an ultimate upper limit to frequency or wavelength? Say...a Frequency of one cycle per Planck interval, or a Wavelength of one Planck Length?

Not trying to argue the method of generating such an upper limit, just wondering is our present knowledge of physics allow or forbid such a limit.

Yes, there is a Planck energy for a single particle. It's roughly 1.22E28 eV or about 2 billion Joules.
