Oh hell yes! I know I've been waiting years for something like this, and as good as my Mask of the Phantasm soundtrack is, getting music from the series itself will be great.

Apparently they shipped earlier than December 16th. As mine just arrived in the mail today.

So a few first impressions:

"Gotham City Overture" is basically a medly of various themes. Batman, the Joker, Olympus, Clayface, Batgirl and Harley Quinn are among the themes included. Very nicely done I thought.

"Music of the Bat 101" is Shirley Walker doing a few samples of the Batman theme on a piano, apparently as part of some interview. Which was quite nice.

The rest of it is pretty good. The music you should know what to expect from the series. The liner notes are quite extensive. In addition to the episode-by-episode track summary, Paul Dini and Danny Elfman talk a bit about Ms. Walker, and one of the writers has some musings of his own. And the back page of it (the one you'll see when you open it) dedicates the album "In Loving Memory" to Shirley Walker.

Definately worth the 30 bucks it cost between the CD and shipping, and I definately hope that we get more where this came from.
