Well, I went down to the southernmost tip of ISrael for some diving, some friends and some 20+c heat in the middle of winter . I didn't bring my regular camera along, but I enjoyed carrying a puny Canon 950 compact as opposed to the 40D behemoth i'd grown used to lugging around, granted it limited the options (and zoom, and ISO...) but have fun from the pics .
Memorial
In memorial of the innocent civilians murdered by hostile terrorist acts. 1951. This is a memorial statue erected on the way to Eilat (Normally a 5 hour drive by bus)
Jordan-Israel border
I prefer it this way and not as an HDR, don't you?
Snorkeller
Herods
Nowhere near as good as the Meridien, and overpriced, but they have a great (if overpriced) restaurant (that I couldn't afford to visit, but I hear is great), and lovely decor.

Jordanian plane
Flying near Eilat's airspace. (Eilat is the border with Jordan - there's the king's favourite resort town right across the border, literally swimming distance).

A bit of the view (the white building in the foreground is the red sea underwater observatory).
Some photos of the desert and the looong drive there:

jump!
It's about 50% taller than that (the photo lacks the bottom half in perspective). It was fun to jump off of that. And an excellent bit of self therapy for (my once) crippling fear of heights .

Genius is always allowed some leeway, once the hammer has been pried from its hands and the blood has been cleaned up.
To improve is to change; to be perfect is to change often.
