Possible malware

Post by Flash »

Need some help from the more savvy here.

My boss has just rung me with a problem. Whenever she tries to open a program, she gets the message:
(application).exe is a bad image.
The application or dll is not a valid windows image.
c:\windows\system32\wulemake.dll
Please check against your windows disk
The only site I could find that had anything about wulemake.dll says it's malware, but I am reluctant to trust just a single website. This is the site I found.

Anyone come across this before, and if so, how can I fix it?

Spybot S&D, Malwarebytes, and a-squared are all your friends. If it's malware, it'll be removed. If you see it again, it's most likely not malware. There isn't much that these three combined won't take out.

Trust me on this. Of the dozens of computers I've looked at over the past month with infections on them, I've only had to nuke and pave twice (one was just a massive - no, epic - infection, the other was causing BSODs that wouldn't let me clean it properly).

My niece: "Yeah, from the fridge!"
