An unfortunate occurance I had on Ostermark after this patch, however, was the insane amount of OOC game mechanic debate/discussion going on in region chat. I think I added over thirty people to my ignore list and it just kept going.

I'd almost rather be on an RP instead of an RP/PvP server, from what I understand there's more open RvR on the non-Open servers since people who want to fight will congregate in the RvR pools.

Guess it'll depend on whether they'll let me transfer from an Open server to an RP server.

There are RP servers? Nice. I'm really just a free-trial away from joining this game. Wonder when those will be offered.

Since patch 1.1, oRVR is now a viable option again for having some fun.

Also, Rain of Fire kicks arse in RvR combat.

Well, they are giving active accounts (or atleast newsletter subscribers) 3 bring a friend trials each.

Recruit-A-Friend To Join the Armies of WAR

The Realm War continues to rage and the armies of Order and Destruction are always on the lookout for new recruits. Do you know a brave warrior that could bolster the ranks? You could earn 30 days of free game time when you recruit family and friends to join the battle in Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning!

Here’s how it works:

When you become a paying subscriber to Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning, you’ll receive 3 recruitment notices to share with friends or family. For each month you continue to subscribe, you’ll receive another recruitment notice (for a maximum of 6 at any time).

2. Send a recruitment email to a friend or family member from the Account Center. This will allow your recruit to create a trial account for seven days of free play. Unused referrals expire after 30 days and will revert back to your pool of available referrals.

3. When your recruit becomes a paying subscriber to WAR, you will receive a credit for 30 days of free game time. Stay tuned for more exciting recruitment rewards in the future!

Log into the Account Center for more details and begin recruiting today!

PM me with your email and your preferred server and realm.

edit: First name too I guess. Dunno what the limitations are for a referral but it looks like you might be limited to one server/realm.

Referral? Is that like a friend trial code or something? If so, any European player who might want to part with one of those?

It doesn't give me a code, just a direction to a page where I can put in someones email address, put in their name and pick their server/side.
Anyways, you don't want to play on the euro servers since they are run by GOA.

I'm assuming so. GOA handles that sort of stuff europe-side and while they did offer a bundle with WAR and DAoC they have apparently done everything else as wrong as possible according to the refugees streaming into NA servers.

So I rerolled from dead old Vortex to Phoenix Throne destro and for the last three days I have been ending up having to lead the realm to victory in ORvR. I hate leading but now I got everyone sending me tells asking who my main is and saying I'm needed in t4 to lead :banghead: It's so bad that i'm 19 and still don't have enough gold for a horse and last name since cash from ORvR is pretty bad if one is buying rams, oil and siege.

Edit: On plus side two days of leading means that I have a full suit of Purple gear with decent stats. It would be better if I could afford talismans to put into it but <shrug>

Gather together 50 to 150+ random people with the attention span of cats and direct them towards useful objectives in a manner that doesn't get them killed too often, frustrated or bored.
For example, most "leaders" will decide to attack a keep that is too heavily defended over and over again until the entire force gives up in disgust and logs onto a t1 alt to play Nordenwatch or bugger cats or something.

lol. I still wondering whether anyone takes over a defended keep at t2/t3.

I've done it in Tier2, but it's fairly tough. We outnumbered the defenders 2 to 1 but there were only ten of us; the only way we managed it was by coordinating things. You can pull the Hero out and have one person tank him while another tank abuses the short leashes on the Champions to reset them when they get pulled. Of course, if the Destruction defenders are smart they'll knockback the guy tanking the Hero and reset him as well.

Because it's more fun to fight people than npcs? You just have to do it right to take a defended keep. My method is different from Jaevric's simply because my server must be more populated. I have everyone push out onto the balcony to reset the lord and his guards, nuke down defenders from outside then tank everything while everyone gets inside so it does not reset.

Its more a case of never successfully doing it. The guards in the keep alone is sufficient to take out a large warband........ An offensive against a defended keep once took me 1 hour JUST to break into the inner keep. God.... Mutiple sorcs, a shaman and pit of shades..............
We barely took out the lower floor guards but by then, we got wiped out as the players mobed us down.

Interestingly......... I wonder how the new RF/BF changes with books/chalices would affect mass spam AOE heal...... God, I wish I have the time to start playing again... I burning sub time.

The best(read: worst, as i play a sorceress) part of ORvR is when the defenders decide to hold the stairs against you and all the melee classes(tanks and dps) wait on the first floor for the ranged dps to take the 2nd floor. :wtf:
