Yeah, right. Can you imagine the furor arising from a president trying to make a law restrictring religious freedom? It does not matter how correct or moral it is, it would be distorted and mis-reported to the point where you look like Hitler. It will never happen, or else it would have already happened.

The good Reverend Phelps(I feel icky even saying that sarcasticly), has been reported , but like many abusers no one will press charges and for thoes who would, the statute of limitations has run out...

The existence and continued existence of Fred Phelps is one of my corner stone arguments for why I've moved from agnostic to athiest in the last few years. Any God who would allow such a monster to speak in his name is obviously eiether a) absent and uncaring b) dosen't exist in the first place and c) is undeservant of my belief and devotion.

Now if Fred phelps were to be smote in some amazing display of devine retribution and punisment, which were so damn common thousands of years ago, then I might change my mind

But as it is hes free to spew violence and hatered, abuse children and terrorize an entire community without impasse.....

Actually, Phelps is not a Rev.- he was defrocked by the Southern Baptist Church.

When you are denounced by Falwell and defrocked by the SBC, it is a clear indication that you are REALLY fucked up.

Reading the articles, I've learned that Phelps is a lair and a child abuser, along with a bigot. He should have been jailed before he could have twelve kids. Then, there might not have been as much pain inflicted. I really can't describe my feelings toward this.

According to the Iraqis, Allah struck down the Columbia.

According to NASA, a malfunction struck down the Columbia.

I propose one method of settling this dispute. Phelps gets holy water, a cross, and a copy of the King James Bible.

The Islamic fundies of the world may pick one of their own to represent them. He gets boxcutters, an AK-47 and a copy of the Quran.

NASA may select one of their own to represent the instiution. He gets a spacesuit and the ability to call down satillite weaponry. Winner is whoever walks out alive.
