BADASS!! My favorite drunken hero! :D

Any chance of some Mark I-VI. I think you could do wonders with all the armors in one drawing.

Highly unlikely that any of the other suits will be making their appearance. The current backlog on planned drawings has more than 100 entries as it is.

Byrne's "I'll Be Doom for Christmas!" presents quite possibly the greatest thing Doctor Doom has ever said in his lengthy career of grandiloquence:

"Prepare yourselves, creatures! Away we will zoom! I'm the new monarch of Christmas! I am Santa Doom!"

Very sweet stuff. We should see a scantily clad hot Dr. Doom elf with big boobies. That is my last request of the year.

Do you mean to say that Doctor Doom should be scantily clad? That poses certain aesthetic difficulties (to say nothing of the fact that the good Doctor has traditionally been portrayed as being almost totally devoid of libido).

Your Tomorrow Knight is too... buff or something. Terry is pretty lean and spry.

That is the uniform President Roosevelt dons in Tales from the Bully Pulpit shortly before he and the ghost of Thomas Edison lead an army of Blue Martians against the Green Martians and Space Nazis in the year 2008 (he stole H. G. Wells's time machine, to which Edison added science, and also wings and a love seat).

Terry McGuiness (EDIt: Batman of the future/Beyond) needs to be a lot leaner and thinner, more angular. (no belt pouches and far taller and longer "ears", pointier too).
Earthwork Jim needs to be a lot more buff :).

Awesome sketches, our nitpicking aside (Jim in particular)

That looks like Spider-Man of 2099.

As SCRawl says, this is Miguel O'Hara, the Spider-Man of 2099. If his costume seems somewhat macabre, it is with good reason: It was not originally meant to be a superhero costume at all, O'Hara had bought it for the Día de los Muertos festivities.

This artist sees the angularity of the character design as being incidental (the vast majority of DCAU character designs are angular, as it is characteristic of the "Dark Deco" art style). The length of the ears, example, is also tied to the art style: Bruce Wayne's cowl is also often depicted with very long ears, which this artist has always thought looked silly. If he draws Bruce Wayne's costume with short ears, and Bruce Wayne designed the new Batsuit, why would it have long ears? Furthermore, the Batsuit is a set of powered armor that was intended for Bruce Wayne himself, who would have required more protection and strength enhancement than the younger and more vigorous Terry McGinnis; it seems logical to this artist that the Batsuit would have heft to it, seeing that it is more like a suit of armor than the previous Batsuits. Furthermore, this is not intended to be the Tomorrow Knight early in his career, but rather the more experienced version seen in "Epilogue." (As it happens, the utility belt is part of the character design.)

There is also the psychological warfare factor. The whole concept of the Batman is to create a frightening image (hence the large cape and cowl with inhuman white eyes). The Batman motif is an advanced development of the timeless trick of puffing oneself up to appear larger. Even if McGinnis himself is not as physically large as the suit, the suit itself could very easily be padded to appear larger. That is, after all, the whole point of having a Batsuit as opposed to simple urban combat fatigues.

Earthworm Jim's Ultra-high-tech-indestructible-super-space-cyber-suit is intended for the non-anthropomorphic Evil Queen Pulsating Bloated Festering Sweaty Pus-filled Malformed Slug-for-a-Butt to wear. It seems logical that it be somewhat androgynous in features, further allowing that the characters in this series of drawings are modified to match this artist's quasi-realistic style. Only a very few characters like He-Man, Doc Samson, and Drax the Destroyer have retained their heavily muscular physiques, in favor of more athletic builds. Earthworm Jim is normally depicted as being muscular, yes, but the art style is also given to highly stylized caricatures. Keeping in mind that there is in fact no muscle beneath the Super Suit's exterior, it only made sense to this artist for the suit to be moulded to resemble muscle, but not for it to resemble a body-builder.

Publius - do you think you might be able to draw a portrait of the cast from Left 4 Dead? They're already sort of "Everymen" but I would be interested to see your take on them. Also, Danny Phantom would be cool. You don't do many younger people and he's something like 14 - take that one as a challenge! :D

What is Left 4 Dead? Is that a TV show?

Blue Beetle, Miss Martian, Supergirl, Mary Marvel, Cyclone, Misfit, the Spoiler, Squirrel Girl, Spider-Girl, Cloud 9, Molly Hayes, Layla Miller, Trauma, Speedball, Namorita, Stature, Iron Lad, the Vision, Patriot, Hawkeye, Kristoff Vernard, Asuka Langley Sōryu, Higurashi Kagome, Jacen Solo, Tenel Ka, Anakin Solo, Tahiri Veila, Mowgli, Calvin, Jonny Quest, Atréju, Peter Pan, Little Nemo, Veronica Mars, Ferris Bueller, Parker Lewis, Jerry Steiner, Nancy Drew, Hua Mulan, Lucca Ashtear, and Arthur Fonzarelli don't count as younger people? You're a difficult man to please, O ye of the neck beleathered.

Alas, there is already a backlog of some 30 or more individual characters for this particular project. More than a hundred characters are scheduled for various other projects, including the Moonlight Sonata/Infernal Gallop/Anvil Chorus triptych based on the CastleVania mythos.
