Seriously, is it that hard to hire someone to make a decent translation?

It can be, especially in certain countries where the educational aim of teaching another language isn't to be able to build yourself up to native level but for things like translation. Yes, translation-oriented education gives you worse results than otherwise. I've seen a group of kids unable to put a sentence properly together after years of studying.
