Well, the drugs could be given out on the condition that the recipients not reproduce for a long time (surgical sterilization or some kind of birth control implant could be made a prerequisite if necessary).

And for that matter immortality is only one of many "carrots" a much more advanced civilization should be able to give us. They could always give something less "disruptive", like maybe cures for AIDS, cancer, and Alzheimer's disease. In many countries basic infrastructure aid or even just food might be sufficient.
