Um, Zor, how did Zorian religious leaders find out about a private conversation between the Canissian monarch and one of his advisors? Or maybe there is something to the accusation of using the missionaries as cover for spying and subversion.
Secondly, your data claims a Muslim population of 1%. 25,000 or so Zorian Muslims being "tolerant and anti-fundamentalist" isn't necessarily going to make them an influential body in the global Islamic community. Especially because they live in mutual tolerance and respect with, y'know, pagans.

No, it is about those Egyptian God fellows, they were in fact having a protest publically decrying the Zorian Norse Faith. But Coyote's post didn't have it stated as a public belief but as Arik and Tigh's speculations, or did we read different posts? Or is this just you extrapolating from that conversation and deciding that there must be enough public commentary that the religious authorities have decided to act upon it instead of not even deigning to give the idea a response?Zor wrote:No, it is about those Egyptian God fellows, they were in fact having a protest publically decrying the Zorian Norse Faith. Zor
Above all, the timing might very well lead Arik and Tigh to conclude that it's probable, instead of merely possible, that there are Zorian infiltrators using religion as a cover/reason.

Yeah, Zor, remember that the "official, public" position of the Canissian government is that it is unimportant. No mention of the suspicions have been made public; in fact at this time the suspicions are shared by a tiny handful of people at the highest levels (the Royal Family, the SPS/Special Protective Services). Among the King and the SPS, policy is still being formulated and is in a "wait and see" status.
Something about Libertarianism always bothered me. Then one day, I realized what it was:
Libertarian philosophy can be boiled down to the phrase, "Work Will Make You Free."
In Libertarianism, there is no Government, so the Bosses are free to exploit the Workers.
In Communism, there is no Government, so the Workers are free to exploit the Bosses.
So in Libertarianism, man exploits man, but in Communism, its the other way around!

Re: SD.Net World Redux Comment Thread V
She can't drift into oblivion: she's tied to the spaceship. The problem is that she drifted off in such a way that the tether is weaved around the capsule, so Alan can't just pull her inside.Coiler wrote:PeZook, have you decided what Miranda's fate will be? Most likely, he'll rotate the capsule (risking injury to Miranda, since he doesn't know her exact position), pull her in and deorbit immediately. Of course, the LSD may kill her before that happens - being in a spacesuit makes any overexertion very dangerous. Either way, we get a huge scandal with Shroomanian MP Moonbeam at the center of it all
Hmm...who wants to mount a Heroic Rescue Operation in their territorry once the capsule lands in an unplanned place?

Unless she confesses, it's also likely that an investigation will conclude that there was no evidence that she knew her canteen wa stampered with. The Shroomanians could say that it was slipped to her to discredit either Shroomanians or women in space; as likely the Zorian pagan movement could say that it is a smear attempt to portray them as nutcases, too.

The nuclear engine is inert, but the ion thrusters and chemical rockets on the EGL work. Maybe we can retrieve them from the Zepp. Get the ship in orbit and pressurize it, since the seals in the crew areas work, and they can use that as a haven for a little while.
