I imagine that I'd have a real-time command guidance mode in my system.

The Crimson Star Republic, due to increased workload on it's political leader, is open for transfer to other players willing to control it in a reasonable fashion (not break it down or throw into a war for zero gain). President Stanislav might step down as a character (some sort of retired Andropov I shall remain if I do so), to make room for the new political leader.

Gah... that leaves me to lead the SNC in some reasonable fashion. :(

Nobody has ever accomplish an orbital rendezvous before, much less within one orbit after launch, so flinging supplies to the capsule is...quite risky.

Damn it.

On a more serious note, I or somebody else could step in as some sort of nationalist leader (without the post-nuclear war apocolypse baggage of Stanislav perhaps?) and demand an answer to the "Byzantine Question" ie: the whole dual alliance thing.

Because frankly I think it'd be rather interesting. Though to be fair it should probably be done by somebody who is neither pro-MESS or overly pro-SNC but who would be willing to play it straight (though I suppose a nationalist leader would be pro-SNC, but whatever).

To that end I'd nominate Steve for it. He is fairly neutral in that regard, and I think it'd be something he would enjoy doing to throw some friction out there. And in my humble opinion I feel he has the writing skills to pull it off quite well. :)

And it gives something to happen other than space race, arms building, whatever the FTO is up to this week, and causing trouble for Zoria (all of which tend to keep us isolated in our own little spheres). A nice little diplomatic row over this could, if played right, give us all a chance to sound off and participate. And best of all this sort of thing would be pureply political and diplomatic, so no real threat of the world ending or anything like that (assuming nobody does something blatently insane, at least).

Just an idea...

The politics will demand I switch to the SNC altogether. The MESS will be regarded as 'too far away to influence the politics of the Old Continent'.

Well you could still have MESS die-hards and such.

Although if you do you know we'll be demanding our SPY-3 and all that other good stuff back, right? Maybe not the F-22s and stuff since everybody and their brother has them, but the STAR stuff...yeah.

Which would make your tech-heads cry. Right now you get to play with the best of both MESS and SNC development. If somebody demands an answer to MESS or SNC, well, you're cut off from somebody. Very sad day.

It is a problem yes. The pro-MESS elements in them military will scream, while some of the pro-MESS Senators will also scream. Likely it will come down to a nationwide referendum.

Though we have been devoting our efforts to develop an alternative navy SAM system for the past few years and might be able to roll it out in 2-3 years, and Stas does have his own stealth aircraft. Worse case start developing a new successor craft.

Personally, I want a moderate. Someone who doesn't mind pulling the trigger when it calls for it, and being assertive on the world stage. While allowing some degree of interaction. Sadly, I can't think of anyone to do the job.

President Stanislav has thought of a plan that is not too out of hand with real-life politics. So far consider myself working towards my own retirement much like an accomplished someone... say Putin  :D

Weren't there only two bids for that convention center? I wonder if someone will file a lawsuit over that.

Sure only two people bothered to respond, but since when has fact and reality ever gotten in the way of a lawsuit? :P

PS: SiegeTank, it's BIOCOM not BIOCON. You need to fire those editors who keep getting it wrong.

Well, unless they have evidence and such, it will thrown out of court.

Besides, the Zorians have to contend with one other lawsuit as well.

Hah! After numerous cost overruns and what have you, we've finally developed that freaking tactical laser.

It won't fit on a Hustler at this point, mind. Maybe a skyfortress, should there ever be such a thing.

Next step: shrink it.

Just a note: It takes quite a few years to work on it from scratch, and you just started. Which means you just reverse engineered a chemical laser, not a solid state one.

Something about Libertarianism always bothered me. Then one day, I realized what it was:
Libertarian philosophy can be boiled down to the phrase, "Work Will Make You Free."

In Libertarianism, there is no Government, so the Bosses are free to exploit the Workers.
In Communism, there is no Government, so the Workers are free to exploit the Bosses.
So in Libertarianism, man exploits man, but in Communism, its the other way around!
