Nice! I especially loved All Tomorrows too, by the way. This guy does some very interesting work.

All Tomorrows was interesting and entertaining (the Modular People were my favourite part of that universe, goddamn ruin-dwellers...), it loses something for not being as scientific as Snaiad, though, I think. I also like his mythological creatures segment, a lot of lesser known beasts in there.
Snaiad is the one thing that has the most attention lavished on it, though, and it's payed off.

Very nice. I'll be keeping an eye on this site. Some interesting ideas there.

He should look into spiders a bit more, considering they actually move via a combination of regular muscles and hydraulics. So it breaks my SoD pretty hard when he talked about their hydraulic muscles having "no analogues anywhere else in known space".Zor wrote:A rather useful update Nemo did clearing up a good deal of perliminary questions involving Snaiadi "Vertibrates"

Otherwise it seems he spent a fair bit thinking it all out, though having the "rapers" be the most feared predators with the relatively useless positioning of their "weapons" is pretty lol to me.

^You've certainly got a point about the Fuckers, I always got the sense they exist for shock/weirdness value rather than because they made any biological sense.

From a biological sense, you could also point out that having the genitals forward and exposed to attacks from the front is a strange idea. This would make them easier to mutilate during various combats during mating or by hunting predators more apt to take a strike near the head of the organism.
I also felt that the future tomorrows thing left the humans that had evolved to their niche too human and general and that it was the explicitly crazy body types that developed tool use, like those floaty-bird types.

The most unexpected thing about all his projects and works is that I now know how Turkish Star Wars came about. Seriously. Also he provides a sort of translation of it, but it apparently makes just as little sense if you actually know Turkish.
