Rock Band 2 Guitar and Guitar Hero III

Post by Beowulf »

So I got a copy of Rock Band 2 for Xbox 360 (along with the instruments), and now I'm wondering if the guitar is compatible with Guitar Hero. The problem is that every site gives a "We think X", or Maybe. Apparently none of the one's I've found have actually tested it.

The 360 version of World Tour is supposed to have some kind of intercompatibility, but otherwise for the most part no. They won't play nice with each other because the companies could never reach an agreement.

Maybe it's a 360-only thing, but I use my GH3 guitar and my GH:WT guitar without issue in RB2 for the Wii. That was the reason I got RB2 in the first place: the instruments for GH were compatible. Is that something that 360/PS3 can have fixed by a patch?

For Guitar Hero 2 and 3, apparently.

However, the Guitar Hero controllers all work in Rock Band, and the Rock Band controllers all work in Guitar Hero World Tour.

Yeah, it's patched. I can use a GH3 guitar with no problem on RB2, but it appears that the reverse doesn't work.

If you ask me it's not worth getting Guitar Hero WT as well.

I have both and WT never goes in the xbox.

Initially, I thought that GH:WT would hold my attention forever, but RB2 has converted me. Don't get me wrong, I think GH:WT is still a lot of fun, but now that the store's open (wiitard lolololololol), RB2 does almost everything as well as, if not better than, GH:WT.

EDIT: Also, I just saw that RB has Static-X in its DLC library. It's over, folks. RB takes it.
