Live Broadcast on Hebrew News.
A Palestinian doctor, well known to many Israelis, calls into his friend who is a broadcaster on a Hebrew news channel. They rush the phonecall onto the air. Tragedy hits home, on live TV.

Tragedy is never real, til it hits one you know

Me: Nope, that's why I have you around to tell me.
Nitram: You -are- beautiful. Anyone tries to tell you otherwise kill them.

It's a sad thing that tradegies like this are, quite frankly, routine. But it takes a well known (and positively so) individual to drive the point home to many people.

Is this the one whose family was killed by a Quassam falling short?

From the Muqata.9:40 PM Breaking News. The CAT head scan of the niece of Gazan doctor, Dr Ayash whose 3 daughters were killed in his building reveals conclusively that the shrapnel in her head is NOT from IDF muntions...rather like those from Hamas-used rockets. (Channel 1 TV minutes ago)

Thanks for including a link, Shep!MKSheppard wrote:From the Muqata.
But having googled the fiercely pro-Israeli blog to which you're referring, I'm inclined to ask you why you think that anybody should find a vaguely sourced statement on an unapologetically biased blog more reliable than the NYT and Telegraph?
EDIT:
Oh, additionally, the IDF admitted to firing at the man's family (allegedly because somebody shot at them from somewhere vaguely in that area, just like when they blew up UN buildings a few days ago), so ... yeah.

Because you know, he's referring to news that was broadcast on Channel One; part of the Israel Broadcasting Authority, and because I don't speak Hebrew, or can't understand english-speaking TV without you know subtitles.Pablo Sanchez wrote:But having googled the fiercely pro-Israeli blog to which you're referring, I'm inclined to ask you why you think that anybody should find a vaguely sourced statement on an unapologetically biased blog more reliable than the NYT and Telegraph?
Do you want me to troll through a billion video clips I can't understand?
I can believe the claim of being able to ID what type of weapon it was by looking at the shrapnel; because based on the design of the weapon and the quality of steel used; each weapon has it's own unique shrapnel fingerprint essentially. US Artillery shells for example in the Korean war were deadlier than Chinese or North Korean shells of equivalent caliber, due to much higher quality steel, creating deadlier fragments which weren't stopped as easily.
Also, artillery shells are designed to explode into precise patterns of fragments for maximum lethality. A homemade rocket will not explode in the same clean pattern, and will have a lot of irregularly shaped, and very big fragments.

No, but it'd be nice if you employed some critical thinking.MKSheppard wrote:Do you want me to troll through a billion video clips I can't understand?
So can I, but that's neither here nor there, because what we're talking about is sources--one vague reference to something on Israeli TV as reported by a militarist pro-Israeli blog, versus reports from the New York Times and Daily Telegraph, plus change. How do we know that such a thing was even reported on Israeli TV, that your blogger did not simply make it up? We don't know. Even if we accept that he's not lying, how do we know that the Israeli TV program was fully accurate? We don't know. What we actually have is not just the NYT and Telegraph, but dozens of different news entities worldwide, all reporting the same thing in contradiction of your source, plus the IDF itself admitting to firing at the building where the doctor's family lived.I can believe the claim of being able to ID what type of weapon it was by looking at the shrapnel; because based on the design of the weapon and the quality of steel used; each weapon has it's own unique shrapnel fingerprint essentially.
Now, I've tried to find any legitimate source talking about this supposed CT scan, but apart from the kinds of blogs that put scare quotes around "Palestinian" to imply, Golda Meir style, that there's no such thing... nada. Until some form of actual evidence shows up, I'm not exactly inclined to agree with you here.
