My son wanted to play Command and Conquer: Tiberian Sun because the CD looks cool. So I installed it on his computer, and helped him play a few missions. Now, I can't stop playing this damned game!

My mind screams STOP! It's a stupid game where one-unit massed charge attacks rule the day, 5 machine-gunners can take down a tank, and mecha roam the countryside. But I keep playing it anyway.

Help!
I played Tiberian Sun once myself. Nice, but no match for AGE OF MYTHOLOGY, where Minotaurs and Cyclopes punt around Viking warriors and mummies! Got it for my birthday 2 weeks ago, now I can't log on without clicking the icon. Love those Hydrae 8)

Those were the same guys that I used (main guy actually). I got pissed that the Barbarian got punted and was no longer that best dueler and I was getting raped by amazons who killed me before I reached them or Sorceresses that kept teleporting and killed me quickly, especially in hell where they like to gang up on the other people and they could be 20 levels below me and still beat me  . I stopped playing then until I got LOD where I went with the Druid but stopped playing eventually because I was being beaten by a Paladin ( ) who was 10 levels below me even though I had more life and better weapon and armor.

Bah, I might play B&W again if it didn't think my computer had -1500MHz (that's right, it thought i had more negative MHz than Spanky's computer has positive MHz, if that's supposed to make sense).

That, and I'm still mad they acted like it was a 'semi-sequel to Populous', untill it became obvious it was a pet simulator at release time. :?:

I'm not sure what games I've simply been 'hooked' on, since I have played quite a few of them alot. I'd have to look through my list.

Ahhh... yes... I so fondly remember TA. at one time I had practically every unit both official and not, to throw against my adversaries, up to nuke-equipped stealth bombers, ICBM submarines, air-transportable Laser towers (they cant move on their own, but they were great for rapidly securing a perimeter for advance bases on big maps)... I had it all.

The one thing I really hated was the Flash Tank Rush. I was always steamed at the fact that the Commander could build all sorts of level 1 structures, but the ONE thing that could effectively cancel the Flash Rush -- Dragon's Teeth -- he could not! DAMMIT IT IS JUST A SPIKY SLAB OF METAL... HOW COULD HE NOT BE ABLE TO BUILD THEM???!!!???!!???!!!???!!!

I am seriously fearing the day I pick up my pre-ordered copy of MoOIII, I'm certain to loose at least a month plus of my life to it........

In anticipation of the release I re-installed MoOII, huge , colossal, mega-
Hiroshima scale mistake....I swear I forgot to eat......

As for C&C Tiberian Sun , resistance is futile, every time I play it, its suddenly 4am and I have class in 4 hours......

Ah yes the good ole C&C games, the only cure I know of is to beat the game.

Then move on and beat the others.........

However, C&C Generals lurks on the horizon (Feb 11th, 2003) and I will once again be addicted.

I must say that doesn't even compare to the addiction level that Star Wars Galaxies will bring. I'm talking about being fired from your job, and your girlfriend/wife leaving you.

My favourite oldies are:

Panzer General series

Heroes of Might and Magic

Silent Hunter I-II

Fighting Steel

Does anyone remember Elite or Archon on C-64?

The graphic was really crappy but it gave a damn good game experience.

I can get lost in a game of Crimson Skies any time.

And I just played through X-wing Alliance all the way through, because I found the CD in a box. Good times.
And you may ask yourself, 'Where does that highway go to?'

Crimson Skies. *sigh* I love that game.

But never play it, then try and go straight into a serious sim. As most "realistic" planes don't like being hit with 180degree negative-G stall turns 15ft away from a cliff face, though in Janes USAF I did pull it off in an F-15. The su-27 chasing me found the cliff though.

Do any of you remember Rise of the Triad? Your basic castle shooter in the style of Wolfenstein, crawling with germans. Nothing was funnier than hearing one of the grunts scream "GUTEN TAG!" and start wailing away with his mp-40. Then dropping a flame wall on him and watching the charred skeleton crumple into a pile of ashes was wildly amusing. And the jukebox! For some sick reason, they included a polka track that you could select, and have playing in the back ground while you were mowing down germans. That was disturbingly fun.

Stars! original, late game where you had your enemy bottled up in a corner of the galaxy with massive picket fleets of 10,000 capships each patrolling his borders while your strike force numbering in the hundreds of thousands moved into position... Yessss...
