E-mail from *@*.info - all spam?

Post by Darth Wong »

A while ago I started adding E-mail domains to my auto-reject list (at the ISP level so it never even goes into my mailbox in the first place), and one addition that made a HUGE difference was to block any mail coming from any kind of .info domain.

Question: am I correct in thinking that pretty much 100% of E-mail from .info domains is spam? I don't think I've ever seen any legitimate E-mail from such a domain, which is why I blocked the whole damned thing.

I haven't seen any kind of statistics on the matter, but the .info top-level domain is mostly used by public information services and tourist boards. I think very few would have a personal .info email address, and the legitimate users of the domain would probably not send you anything worth reading unless you ask them to.
