Strange game. The only winning move is not to play.
The missionaries may be gone, but there are still Zorian troops in eastern Velaria nonetheless. As long as the jihadis still have a target...

I think it would be good if Shinran shitpieces started dealing with drugs called Geostigma and stuff. It'd give you visions of the coming of Mother, and would eventually turn you into violent antisocial albinos.

And the Zorians totally need to market VALK - which'll totally give you mad hallucinations of cities on fire, and Valkyries whisking the dead away, while you see things in slow motion, a.k.a. Bullet Time! It'd be big in San Dorado, too, and we can have Marky Mark beating ass while having internal monologues.

Out of interest has the game been rebooted or is it still going from when I left. Also if it is, is it possible for me to join?

SiegeTank made the suggestion that Zablorg establish Ford Prefect's Nation on the spot of al-Ghazzara. I don't know if Zablorg has actually followed up on that suggestion, but it was what came to mind when I typed up that reply at 0100.

The game has not been rebooted and has continued on in your absence. As far as I know, your original nation's still there.

Yeah, like Shinn said, you can pick up from where you left off, and make up some random explanation for the absence of your nation on the international stage.

Um, no? You did that last game, anyway.

And what is with this "Shinran" business? It's just Shinra. Because 'Shinran' sounds dumb as Hell.

What do you mean? Cialan was brutally subjugated by PeZookia for insulting our cooking. We've been making them eat pierogi ever since.

Well, Siege, I think the Seawolf runs on a pump jet past 30 knots. The top speed is classified of course.

Though, I have yet to hear of a Seawolf that can run silent at 30 knots yeah. I think the only ship that made it past 40 knots was a Soviet Papa, but I think it was so noisy that it sounded like a train...

The Alfa could reportedly do 42 knots.

It had a reactor that used molten metal for coolant :D

The Soviet Project 661 Papa did something like 44 knots on 2 PWRs. The interesting part was that she displaced 7,000 tonnes submerged and 5197 tonnes surface.

I know this, but my engineers sure don't :D. And of course the FTO wouldn't be able to afford anything like a Seawolf or, even more hilarious, an Alfa. Titanium alloy hull, exotic liquid metal nuke plant, crush depth in excess of 1300 meters, say hello to bankruptcy!

It's also noisy as hell and thus vulnerable to the things it was supposed to hunt (CVBGs).

Though admittedly it was never armed with guided nuclear-tipped Shkvals which seemed like an ideal weapon for an "interceptor submarine" like that.

Well, it's pretty expensive to just "throw" away a submarine like that.... Though I suppose if it fires it off just above the thermocline and dives as deep as it could go it might dodge all the 60 knot and above torpedoes.

In exchange for a carrier group? Why is it expensive? :D

Besides, it could launch the Shkval "cold" and set on a timer, then dive to 1000 meters and creep away, while the torpedo activated and moves out screaming at 120 knots towards the MESS CVBG.

Am I wanking too much? :P

Actually it goes at 200 knots with range up to 13km. The only issue is whether the submarine can get that close and not make a racket, and get past all the submarines guarding the CVBG, and at the same time launch the thing and hope the torpedo runs fast enough and no ship can dodge.

Because it's likely an ASROC would catch the submarine first.
