Daleks vs. the Empire

Post by Tyralak »

The battle is between the Dalek Empire from the current Doctor Who series, and the Empire. Place your bets! Especially given the technology from the season finale, the Empire would likely be curbstomped.

Jesus christ.

Can you at least pick a point in Dalek history? Because in case you haven't noticed, they don't fucking exist anymore, and far enough into the Time War they pretty much automatically win.

EDIT - you might want to actually post some examples or analysis, or GR is likely to insta-lock this for lack of content.

Maybe you should read a bit more closely. Current series. The Dalek Empire from the season finale. Journey's End if I have to spell it out for you. And considering the Empire doesn't exist anymore either, your second point is irrelevant.

'The current series'? 'The season finale'? The Empire just sits around and waits for the Daleks to be defeated by the Doctor, game over.

If you're not going to provide any information or a reasonable time period to take the Daleks, there can't really be a discussion, can there? There's plenty of scope for an interesting conflict pre-Time War. Or is this thread just a juvenile example of 'lol i can has timescoop you lose'? At least TRY to provide examples or quantify something before the thread gets locked.

Daleks can steal planets? Maybe they can steal Coruscant and a few others and place them into a black hole? *shrugs*

Since I have trouble with my hearing and my computer's speakers suck but didn't those Daleks have the ability to destroy the Tardis or was it only because the shields may or may not have been down?

You mean dialog suggested they had the ability to destroy the TARDIS, which previous Daleks had expected a few missiles to do?

Worthless evidence.

We have no information regarding the military capabilities of that faction beyond 'has timescoop' and 'has some Daleks'.

Oh well if it would likely be curbstomped then why bother starting a thread about it?

And yes, the Galactic Empire does still exist, it is just not Palpatine's anymore.

What about their ability to steal planets and the reality bomb?

Wouldn't using the reality bomb kinda give the Daleks an edge?

His opinion is that the GE would lose, doesn't mean that other people's viewpoint does not matter. If you think the GE would win then says so. :)

Dude, they have a timescoop, so there's no real contest. But since this chud hasn't quantified anything or even mentioned any examples of anything, his thread sucks. There isn't enough information to even determine Saucer vs ISD or anything; either they cheat by using Time War technology to end-run around a conflict or we can't say anything.

Wow what a fun thread! Because he's too stupid to set up an example, we don't even know if the Daleks are safely positioned many galaxies and millions of years away from the Empire where they can pick it apart at will or if they're in range of direct confrontation (in which case the Empire could concievably simply overrun them, since we don't have any idea what the cooldown on the timescoop is).

No the quote that DW said to Donna about they could blast the Tardis as if it was really made of wood.

Yeah, dialog = useless. Catch up. The Doctor says a lot of shit; some of it ISN'T TRUE or is HYPERBOLE. His statements are worthless evidence unless backed up by examples (and the Emperor's Daleks were insane lunatics so even their confidence isn't necessarily compelling evidence).

Just put it as a newbie attempt at a debate. I'm currently giving him a lowdown on how this board works. :)

 Honestly, I didn't even know what a Dalek was until like a year and a half ago. I still don't know what they do. Examples would be nice for someone like me.

To put it simply to Tyralak, I told him that depending which era the Daleks from, it'll either be a cakewalk for them or the GE wins. :)

High end Daleks can destroy the universe and can use time travel and the low end Daleks can't even climb stairs. :)

Even low-end Daleks can climb stairs; just only offscreen :)

As a first attempt this is a bad sign; he provided nothing - Enigma provided more evidence - and he ran off once people demanded actual facts.

My fault on his non response. Told him to lay low and lurk the board more before starting a debate. Told him to read the rules and get a feel of the board. He's not familiar with SDN's style.

And maybe actually have some facts or examples instead of 'omg xyz vs abc lol what a curbstomp' which is pretty much just spam.

Sadly I can call into question almost every example of Dalek firepower beyond the infantry level, so it's difficult to have a vs beyond very general terms.
