No, it isn't. It's intentionally taken to the greatest of extremes, adding rascism and elitism to valid criticisms of Leftist ideologies. Nevermind, of course, that the Declaration of Independence isn't a Leftist ideology, and the criticisms applied there aren't valid. It's like disjointed random statements, responses having nothing to do with what's being quoted.

It's a typical tactic I've seen before of the desperate, to criticize what does not exist. Rightists that stupid are out there, but not hardly in any great numbers.

Sarcasm

Post by The Janitor »

I think its sarcasm guys  it is even from a site called ‘anil dash’.

I think the writer is saying that 240 odd years ago, the Americans were the socialists of this world or they could be just writing crazy shit to see if anyone will write in & sound stupid.

Indeed, I'm actually going to need to replace my sarcasm-detector, the previous one was very nearly atomized upon reading that page.

Did you check the responses to that particular page? Hilarious!

The reason I didn't put any smilies into the original post was because I wanted to see the reactions to it. Besides, anybody familiar with my posts who sees me posting something with a title like this thread has had better be on their toes. Not that I'm that well known, but I've been active enough in some politics related threads, and being European (albeit right-wing one), I still look like a socialist to many Americans...

Any attempt to see the American Revolution as being proto-socialist is doomed for failure. Nothing could be further from the truth.

I'm studying for the CPA exam. Have a nice summer, and if you're down just sit back and realize that Joe is off somewhere, doing much worse than you are.
